I've just gone to re order my Mounjaro and had to take a photo to upload, looking through my first photo I took in September I can see a big difference. I'm almost 4 stone down which is amazing for me, I have PCOS and severe Psoriasis so losing weight has been a constant struggle. Another 4 stone to go at least but I'm about to venture into the gym as I feel I am more able, I've been swimming 3-4 times a week and can swim a mile in an hour without breaking a sweat but I feel I need to up my game. Anyone thinking about trying Mounjaro I can't recommend it enough, it's changed my life 😊

Well done you, you're doing great. I also have PCOS and this drug has been life changing for me. Have your periods come back? Mine have, 3 months in a row now!

Lillipops · 23/02/2025 13:51

@HansHolbein yes they have, I've never had periods ever unless I was on the pill I'm 44 so this is new!

Wow what a difference, you’re doing fantastically well!

@Tulipsandaffodils thank you so much, I've only just started to feel a difference and then I saw the old photo. Still a long way to go but I'm in it for the long haul 😊

I’m on my 5th week. Turned 50 at the end of my 4th week and have lost 10kg so far. Some of that (4kg) was through careful eating about 3 weeks prior to starting my first pen. The rest has been with the aid of Mounjaro. I’m just on my 3rd day since taking 5mg and no side effects to speak of but am aware that I have to be careful to avoid digestive upset.

I am not eating as ‘normal’ I have changed my diet heaps and am finding it is helping with both side effects avoidance and also feeling healthy whilst losing weight.

Am enjoying food much more because I’m now seeing it as an opportunity to give my body super nourishment as I age and also a lot of guilt has gone because I’m eating for health and vitality rather than because my brain says “eat”. I’ve never eaten huge portions nor ‘junk’ but I did have a penchant for highly calorific items like double cream based puddings, taramasalata and pitta bread, cheese and bread. I also grazed throughout the day as I work from home and often ate as distraction or for the taste hit.

I’m hoping that my new found pleasure in cooking from scratch with whole foods and limited sugar will allow me to continue the journey when the jabs stop. I hope that I’ll feel in control and enlightened in my food choices.

I’ve actually just spent the evening making home made coco pops for my daughter as I want her to benefit from my new style of cooking and grow up with at least an awareness of alternatives to processed food even if she rejects it for a time.
