@MrsNessaSmithy, I’m the same re body shape. Been fat since I started 6th form in the last millennium and it’s weird feeling my bones and looking different.

Has anybody gone up to 15mg? I’ve got a new 15mg and I feel scared to go up for some reason. I feel as apprehensive as I did going up to 5mg.

I’m still plateauing but I know I need to start exercising/weights. I ventured up a quite steep hill near me at weekend and I always used to half-die just at the crest of it but this time I felt slightly out of breath but fine - I was quite chuffed.

@ViolaPlains I'm still on 12.5 but have a 15mg in the fridge for when I need it, solely because I panicked when I heard there was a supply issue last month. I'm not at that point yet but the idea is a bit scary. I think it's because it feels like there is nowhere else to go after this but I reassure myself that, in the original trials, there was only 5, 10 and 15 which went up monthly and people stayed on 15 for considerable times.
My weight loss is incredibly slow now too and I don't think I can cut calories any more but still eat healthily so, like you, I need to increase exercise and start weights

ClonedSquare · 23/04/2025 17:50

I’m on 15mg now and I’m finding it good. I’m a little apprehensive about having nowhere else to go after this, but I stayed on 10mg and 12.5mg for ages so not too concerned.

I’m still sort of in a plateau or losing very slowly. Hoping that now the good weather is hopefully approaching, I’ll be out of the house more so less tempted to snack. Mounjaro does help dramatically with that, but if I’m left without something to occupy my brain then I do get tempted again.

I'm just making bad choices. I had a week in hospital and put a couple of pounds on due to eating the food that they brought me and not doing anything for 3 weeks. Today I've just made bad choices, breakfast was a couple of protein weetabix with milk. Lunch was an easter egg - the mini egg one with 6 eggs in a larger outer egg. Second lunch was a lidl pack of salmon sushi. Tea was a slice of simnel cake, and supper a chocolate protein yoghurt. I've never counted calories, but feel this is more than there should be, and a massive sugar overload. I need to get back into the fish and fruit lunches, and properly cooked food.

QueenOfHiraeth · 24/04/2025 19:09

@peppercornrent I think a week in hospital would push me face first into an Easter egg too! Hope you are better now, take care of yourself
If it makes you feel any better, my eating will probably trump yours this week as I have such a busy week due to a holiday last week and another in a week's time. I'm eating out 5 times this week!

OP posts:
MrsNessaSmithy · 25/04/2025 08:55

my eating has been terrible as on an all inclusive break. I have not been eating much volume of food but the lure of the buffet and random foods is strong ! I reduced to 10mg the day before we left and suppression was there a bit but appetite has increased.
I was on 12 for 3 weeks before we came away and my weight had started shifting again. Will go back to it when home.
I am so determined to get to below BMI 25 feels so close but still struggling with the last few lbs.

CrystaltipsnoAlistair · 10/05/2025 16:43

Hi guys 👋 thought I would check back in and see how everyone was doing.
This week marks me doing a full year on Mounjaro and feeling very thoughtful.
With the amazing help of the jabs have lost 120 lbs which is 8 stone 8lbs. For the record it is the weight of 2 large sacks of potatoes and a newborn baby…mad !!!! The fact I haven’t ditched things anywhere along the line for a food blowout or mountain of crisps etc is quite unnerving. Been yo-yo dieting for 30 odd years so this is a revelation. Still can’t quite believe it.
How is everyone coping …thread looks a little quiet. Be great to catch up …..

QueenOfHiraeth · 10/05/2025 22:12

@CrystaltipsnoAlistair Well done! What an achievement! I am 5ft 5in tall and 8st 8lb is in my healthy weight range (not that I am ever likely to see that weight!) You have lost a whole person 😯

My 1 year mark is in 3 days, I had hoped to hit the 5stone mark but have just got back from a holiday so think my chances are slimmer than I am Grin Having said that, I had a wonderful time and the memories will outweigh the few pounds I will miss it by

CrystaltipsnoAlistair · 11/05/2025 08:33

@QueenOfHiraeth Thank you so much for your kind words. We have both been on such a journey here and can’t believe it has been a year.
So glad you had a lovely holiday. Do you carry on with your jabs while you away ? I would be scared to come off but I believe the MJ stays in your system a while. Doesn’t matter if you even gained a bit as once you settle back to real life will soon go and you have to enjoy the great food on holiday as life is for living.
The trick for me seems to have been this time is to keep going no matter what as I have been a proverbial diet yo yo for years so trying hard to get back on the horse if there is a setback and not give up. My big concern will be maintenance but will just need to deal with that when I get there.
Nearly 5 stone is amazing 🤩 what a loss. I started out with ten stone to lose but didn’t didn’t ever imagine I would get close to that. According to stupid BMI calculations I only just out of the obese category. Load of rubbish that thing lol.
wonder how the others from here are doing. Hopefully they will stop by.
Hope everyone enjoying the great weather this weekend and in smaller clothes !

Splattsagain · 11/05/2025 11:49

Hi - I started at the end of May, and so far I'm down 4 stone 9 pounds - still got another 4 to go though. Mounjaro wasn't effective for me until I titrated up to 10, so I didn't really start losing consistently until mid August. Huge congratulations @CrystaltipsnoAlistair and @QueenOfHiraeth for your losses, it really is a game changer!

I'm also enjoying dropping down a few dress sizes - I'm selling the bigger stuff and buying smaller mainly on vinted, so it's not even cost me much apart from on underwear. Even my feet have got narrower! Also I've not been able to wear my wedding & engagement rings for a while as they're too loose, but last week I got a cheap eternity ring that holds them in place. When I get closer to target I'll get them resized, but no point yet.

QueenOfHiraeth · 11/05/2025 22:03

@CrystaltipsnoAlistair I agree, I just keep going too with the MJ doses, regardless of what is going on. I try not to think of it like dieting, this is part of my new life now.
@Splattsagain Our weight loss is similar, I was on 4st 10 last week before going away and I'm not going to hit that 5st in the next couple of days for my anniversary but hey ho!

OP posts:
CrystaltipsnoAlistair · 12/05/2025 06:43

Wow that’s a terrific loss @Splattsagain. I have been the same re clothes and rings and Vinted has been a great help not to spend too much on new clothes.
Think it takes to finding the dose that works best for you and totally agree @QueenOfHiraeth about new way of life. I tried going up from 7.5mg but could barely eat so have stuck with it and has worked well though a lot slower now I am a lot lighter. Don’t worry about not hitting the 5 stone just numbers and you will get there. I had hoped to lose 10stone in a year but that was unrealistic and heck I never would have dreamed I could wear a 12 or 14 ever again. Crazy.

MrsNessaSmithy · 13/05/2025 13:57

I am still plugging away and not quite a goal yet.

I have an intro session with a stylist tomorrow as I am loathed to buy new clothes without some style help. If it goes well I will sign up for a paid session. I have a wedding in June and want to be confident when choosing what to wear as I am so hopeless now.

I started a new 12.5 pen this week and the supression is much more pronounced. Do you find new pens can be stronger ? It’s my 3rd 12.5 pen so not a new dose.

also - can someone link to where you get the 1ml needles from ? I can’t find any !

QueenOfHiraeth · 13/05/2025 20:10

@MrsNessaSmithy I got these

Stylist sounds a great idea. I really fancy that but don't know where to start now there are no department stores near to me. Where are you going?

OP posts:
CrystaltipsnoAlistair · 13/05/2025 20:21

@MrsNessaSmithy Thats a really good idea.
I have found it weird trying to figure out what suits me at this age and size.
I have been on 7.5mg for many months and have found last month or so suppression is even stronger. I’m wondering if it is because I am now much smaller - wonder if your body weight makes a difference ?

MrsNessaSmithy · 13/05/2025 20:44

It’s a local stylist who does various packages in person but a free 15 minute introductory zoom call. I want to feel we get on and I feel comfortable with her before I arrange a paid appointment. One of my friends went and has improved her confidence massively.

Maybe the body weight does impact the impact. I find that it’s impossible to burn as many exercise calories as I used to as I am lighter. I am considering a walking pad to up my steps whilst I am in meetings when working at home. May get one from Amazon so can return if it doesn’t work . I am worried I will be bobbing about and distracting in meetings.

Thanks for the needle reminder @QueenOfHiraeth .

peppercornrent · 13/05/2025 22:58

I celebrated 100lb loss on my first anniversary. Still can't get my head around it. Still a long way to go.

CrystaltipsnoAlistair · 14/05/2025 06:01

@peppercornrent Thats amazing well done on your tremendous loss. Did you imagine you could do that in a year ? You must feel great.
I found it mind blowing I could lose over 100lbs but wouldnt have managed it without the food noise gone.
@QueenOfHiraeth @MrsNessaSmithy Would be fabulous to all do a clothes shopping day together.

ClonedSquare · 15/05/2025 10:21

Hi all, just checking in as it’s been a while! Congrats on all the losses, it’s amazing how far we’ve all come!

I’m hovering around my initial goal weight still, gaining and losing the same three pounds. But I have been eating a lot of junk recently. My food noise is back a bit- no cravings or sitting around thinking of food all the time, but I do have a desire for junk when the opportunity arises. I need to get into a “dieting” mindset and make more effort. I might try intermittent fasting, as the Mounjaro is still leaving me feeling full a lot of the time, I just need some structure and discipline. But it’s been nice getting to this point before having to do that!

QueenOfHiraeth · 15/05/2025 13:56

@ClonedSquare Have you set another goal or still happy with where you are?
Are you thinking of stopping or carrying on?

OP posts:
ClonedSquare · 18/05/2025 20:27

I’m setting a goal of losing another two stone, which would give me a BMI of 30. I’m very relaxed about it though, I’m happy with my current loss so anything else is just a nice bonus.

I’m undecided about what I’ll do when I’m at final goal. Fighting the food noise when I was bigger was impossible as it just felt so hopeless and overwhelming. Now I have something worth maintaining, I feel I’ll be in a slightly better position to do so. But ultimately I think Mounjaro has proved to me that my obesity is biological, so I think I’ll be on a low dose forever.

I'm seriously looking into body lifts/similar surgeries. I have a lot of loose skin around my lower abdomen and hips, which mean there’s a limit to how small my trousers can get. I’d probably lose a significant chunk of weight just having the skin removed, although it’s hard to tell what is loose skin and what is fat!

CrystaltipsnoAlistair · 19/05/2025 05:20

@ClonedSquare I know what you mean about the food noise and the hopelessness before the medication. Like you I am only a couple of stone away from goal and maintaining is daunting. Will probably also be on it for life.

Angie7654 · 26/05/2025 20:34

Just joining this thread as I started my MJ journey on 21 May 2024 ☺️
SW 14st 7
CW 10st 13 (finally made it into the 10st bracket last week on my 1 year mounjaroversary after months of up and downs)
i joined oushk conti plan and am maintaining on 7.5 though won’t mind if I lose a couple more lb but otherwise I’m very happy with how I currently look.

QueenOfHiraeth · 26/05/2025 21:23

@Angie7654 Well done, how lovely to be at goal!
