Thanks @QueenOfHiraeth you have done pretty amazing yourself!!
I know what you mean about hiding the loss. People seem to feel free to comment on it or ask questions and I know they mean well and are pleased for us but it is hard to deal with some days.
I too have kept my bigger clothes as it would be tempting fate ?! perhaps and like you some are not replaceable. I’ve always regained in the past so even although I feel more hopeful I can maintain this time I can’t be 💯 sure. I think I will be on this for life.
I have been buying from eBay and Vinted as am not sure what size I will end up and my old clothes were literally falling off. I did get some new size 14 jeans from River Island - a shop I could never use before size wise - did get a kick from that.

QueenOfHiraeth · 20/03/2025 16:51

@CrystaltipsnoAlistair I really don't understand sizes as 've been a 22-24 for so long. I estimate I'm a 16-18 but not sure, I'm bigger on the bottom than the top, now weigh about 13st 4lb.
A friend of mine is a bit further along in weight loss than I am, weighs not quite half a stone less than me, but is a couple of inches shorter. She has passed on jeans to me which she has shrunk out of. They look good and I'm thrilled with them but they are a size 20
I can't understand how someone of similar weight but shorter is in smaller sizes and I'm seeing other people on here posting similar weights and saying they are in far smaller sizes so I have no idea what to order off things like Vinted. I'm just living in leggings and big jumpers at present!

Oh @QueenOfHiraeth I totally get you. We are all different shapes and sizes and it is very confusing when shop sizes are all way different too.
Maybe you could have a shopping day with a friend and try on stuff in multiple sizes. I’ve got a few things from online sales and ordered a couple of sizes and sent back non fit ones.
Maybe you could treat yourself to one outfit that makes you feel fab in the sales see what suits you.
i bought a jumper in a small - haven’t been a small in 30 years. It blew my mind. Weirdly I’m struggling though to know, like you, what size I am and what would look decent. I lose sight of who I am if you get me. It’s so strange it can be upsetting as well as exciting. My legs have changed shape completely.
Part of me is just so frightened I could regain and go back to where I started and that scares me so much. It’s so nice to be among you lovely people on here who understand this weird journey.

Snozzlemaid · 20/03/2025 18:58

It’s difficult learning how to dress a different body shape isn’t it.
I’ve had to buy a few bits for when the weather warms up a bit as I had nothing in my wardrobe that fitted apart from winter clothes.
But I keep finding myself looking at the same sort of style I’ve always worn, long tunic top that covered my bum and belly, but I need to find a different style now I’m 6 stone down. And I want to move away from patterns that so much of plus size clothes are made up of.
I have a waist now, looking from the front, which I’d love to show off but my belly is still very large sticking out in front so more fitted tops don’t yet look good.
I think it’ll take me a while to find what suits me now, and get used to it.

Greentrilby · 20/03/2025 19:29

I’ve bitten the bullet and got rid of all my larger clothes. Vinted and my mum have benefitted! With the money I’ve made on Vinted I’ve started to create a new capsule wardrobe. I used to buy stuff if it fitted or looked nice without any thought to what else it would go with.

so far ive bought a pair of Lily jeans in dark blue from M&S and a pair of beige ankle grazer wide leg jeans, also from M&S. five t shirts from Next in white, cream, pale pink, beige and pale blue. These aren’t skin tight but aren’t floaty which were my go to before. A Chanel look soft woolly jacket from Sosandar in cream was my most expensive purchase but I love it. Finally I added a merino wool round neck jumper in sage green. All these were new as I wanted to make sure they fitted and I looked ok in them. I’ve since supplemented them with items from Vinted - some fit, some didn’t. I also bought new bras and knickers.

I reckon I’ve spent around £350 so quite an outlay and won’t buy anything else unless it fits into my new colour palette. I haven’t bought a single item of patterned clothing. Everything goes with everything else and I’ve found having fewer clothes makes getting dressed so much easier and I wear all the stuff.

ViolaPlains · 21/03/2025 18:10

Hi all. I didn't realise there were still people like me taking it since May 24! I'm 64lbs down now, from 17st11 to 13st4. I'm living buying smaller clothes - I actually bought new bras this week, although I'm sure I should have done so sooner.

I've always been with Boots. I'm on 12.5, was due to do my does on Weds but haven't had my latest pen because of an admin error, but the pharmacy assistant said there might be supply issues. This has made me think about what others are now doing. I've got under 2st to my goal and I'm wondering when people started to go downwards. I can't imagine getting to my goal and then starting to wean off/reduce dosage.

You are almost my MJ twin! Started similar weight, similar weight now but my total loss is 62lb, also on 12.5mg Smile
I saw a TT influencer the other day saying there may be a temporary shortage in higher strengths as Lilly diverted production to lower strengths in anticipation of a surge in demand in January but this should resolve within a couple of weeks. Don't know if TikTok is a trustworthy source though!
I order mine 2 at a time to save on postage and got some at the beginning of March so am keeping everything crossed it will be sorted by the time I need more. You could try other suppliers if needed, it's apparently easy to switch

OP posts:
ViolaPlains · 22/03/2025 09:33

@QueenOfHiraeth, the use of higher strengths for lower doses makes sense. I did think that it was unlikely that all the recent people would be up to 12.5.

I think it's been life changing for me.

I'm never going to wear another long tunic in my life! (Touchwood). As I've lost weight a lot of tops that used to just about fit are now longer on me because my massive stomach and chest isn't pulling it up and I think they all seem too long and baggy now. I've got a couple of blouses from Tesco for peanuts in the sale and I've been loosely tucking them in and loving it.

I'm loving getting smaller jeans. What I find bizarre I that I'm now not wanting skinny jeans but wide ones - I'd have thought it would be the other way round and would order skinny jeans when skinnier and wide jeans when wider.

One extremely weird thing is that I've got a pair of M&S stretch skinny jeans in an 18 that just about fit me 63lbs ago and still fit me now. That's some stretch.

ClonedSquare · 23/03/2025 06:09

I hit seven stone loss recently, and just 2lbs to go until I’m at 100lbs in total. Still have a long way to go, but I’m 10lbs from the target I set when I started the jabs which is an amazing feeling. And I still feel like I can keep going, which is unheard of from me when it comes to dieting.

The shopping thing is such a dilemma isn’t it! I’m down to a size 18 on the top in shops which is a great feeling. Going into an actual shop and buying off the rails is something I haven’t been able to do in over five years, so that’s emotional haha. I’m actually buying clothes and thinking they look good, which I can’t even remember the last time I did that. But equally the sizing is all over the place and I wince at spending much money on new things!

I do think eventually I’m going to look into some kind of surgery for loose skin. I definitely don’t look 100lbs lighter, and things like jeans look absolutely awful on my belly etc. Just need to reach a point where I’m happy to stop losing and have maintained the loss for a while and then I’ll be looking into it!

QueenOfHiraeth · 23/03/2025 14:12

@ClonedSquare What an amazing loss! That's brilliant!
I notice, in jeans and some trousers, I look like I have an inflated ring across my front. Starts around the outer part of each hipbone, dips down in the middle then back up to the other side. It's infuriating!

OP posts:
CrystaltipsnoAlistair · 23/03/2025 21:34

Congratulations @ClonedSquare thats fabulous. You must feel so much better. It’s quite something to be at the 100lb off zone. I can’t believe we have all stuck to this regime pretty easily. I have never lost over 100lbs before and feel hopeful about keeping going and then maintaining. Without the MJ this would not have been possible for me.
It is such a high to be able to buy clothes from
any high street now. I don’t have any more elastic waist trousers 👖!!!

Greentrilby · 26/03/2025 08:10

@ClonedSquare you've done really well, seven stone is an amazing milestone. I think clothes shopping is a minefield at the best of times but when you are a completely different size it’s hard to get your head around what to buy.

like you, I’m reluctant to spend £££s on stuff unless I know they are perfect. I must admit though it’s a great feeling picking up a smaller size off the rail.

QueenOfHiraeth · 26/03/2025 17:01

Please excuse me copying my post from another thread but just in case it helps anyone.

There have been rumblings of shortages of 12.5mg and 15mg looming for a while and it does seem like it is starting to bite now.
The thought is that maybe Lilly switched production over to low doses to cope with the post-Xmas demand but, by yesterday, about 10% of suppliers were out of stock of those higher doses and they don't all update their stock openly so it may be more widespread.
I saw some posts on FB complaining that Oushk were out and had accepted orders as they had been told a delivery would come in this week but it didn't. They are now saying 2nd April but no idea if that is guaranteed.
I'm sure I read somewhere it may take a while to resolve so it may be worth ordering sooner rather than later if you may be affected.

OP posts:
MrsNessaSmithy · 31/03/2025 18:07

@QueenOfHiraeth I just got a 12.5 with no problem so hopefully there is not a shortage. I find the 5th dose means I have built up a bit of a stash as still get a pen every 4 weeks so have some wriggle room.

I am still plugging away. Have upped my activity but have realised the loss of interest in food has led to lazy eating as I have no motivation to cook and started eating junk. I have not been eating excessively but just not good choices. I am going to be strict and go back to making healthy food to see if that helps with the last few lbs.
I work in a very stressful job and am really making an effort to look after myself in every way as was at burnout risk. The recent sunshine and exercise have helped immensely.

wow @ClonedSquare seven stone is incredible . I am sure most of you know that I have lost 9 stone over the past 10 years. I regained some and lost 50lb in the last year on MJ. I had a breast lift and tummy tuck a few years ago as all my weight was on my stomach and I could fold the skin up like origami. It was the best thing I ever did. Hope the 100lb loss is imminent…

QueenOfHiraeth · 31/03/2025 21:31

@MrsNessaSmithy I got mine at the end of last week too. I know Oushk are out of 12.5 and 15 but hoping for delivery in the next few days. Curate and Medicines Marketplace are also out I think

CrystaltipsnoAlistair · 13/04/2025 19:21

Hi everyone. Thought I would bump the thread and see how everyone was doing ?
I’m now down 2 large sack of potatoes as in 8 stone. It’s been the easiest weight loss I’ve ever had but has been a long journey. I knew it would be over a year but so worth it. Still have nearly 2 stone to lose. How is everyone coping with this long journey?

QueenOfHiraeth · 13/04/2025 19:57

Hi @CrystaltipsnoAlistair I'm still here and peeking in now and again. Well done, 8st is amazing!

I'm at 4 1/2 stone so just a bit beyond an elephant's penis. I have been a bit of a slacker though, lots of eating out, etc so need to motivate myself and crack on for this last bit.
I've just got into the overweight bracket so, technically, over 2st to go to the top end of healthy but I know that will be too far for me as I'm older and shrivelling already. I think I'll know where to stop when I get there, I hope so anyway but I'm not in any rush

OP posts:
MrsNessaSmithy · 13/04/2025 21:15

I am still here managed to get the weight shifting a bit again and dropped 3lb in the last couple of weeks. Still chasing that last stone to take me to BMI 25.
Have a holiday soon so hoping not to put on anything plan to drop from 12.5 to 10mg for that week.
@CrystaltipsnoAlistair 8 stone is amazing but agree the journey can be long and I feel as I now look quite ‘normal’ it’s harder to motivate to shift the last bit.

peppercornrent · 13/04/2025 22:12

I'm still here too. I'm at a 98lb loss, crazy numbers. Still some to go though, and DH has started taking it too. Sharing a pen at the moment - I get 9 and he gets 2.5 from a 12.5 pen. (he did it properly for the first pen though)

ClonedSquare · 14/04/2025 22:04

I’m still around, still losing although very slowly lately. Definitely agree that now I’m more “normal fat” it’s less motivating to keep going, although I’m determined to. The difference in the mirror is amazing, although the loose skin is definitely depressing. I feel I’m having to put more effort into losing weight now, although it’s more slightly depriving myself when I’m tempted compared to before when saying no was impossible.

My goal is BMI 30/10 stone loss, so I have another 38lbs to lose which feels a way away but still doable. I have 6lbs to lose until I’m at the goal I set when I began, which felt like it was impossible at the time!

ViolaPlains · 17/04/2025 09:58

I’ve been on a plateau for a month. Going up and down the same pound. I’ve still got about 2 stone to go but I’m feeling fed up with it at the moment. Does anybody else ever feel like that?

Greentrilby · 17/04/2025 22:26

Hi everyone, good to catch up and hear how everyone is doing.

Being on a plateau is normal I think and for me upping my water intake seemed to get the scales moving downwards again.

I’m trying to keep my weight stable - well within a six pound window at any rate. I’ve titrated down to 4ml and treats and alcohol have crept back into my life. I keep a food diary and am meticulously noting down everything I eat and drink. It definitely helps me. I think I’ve found my sweet spot with my weight - not too hard to maintain and making good choices 95% of the time. I don’t want to give up MJ completely though as I still dont have the will power to go it alone and frankly why should I!

MrsNessaSmithy · 18/04/2025 06:29

Yes @ViolaPlains I have also plateaued and am very frustrated. I have shifted slightly with being strict with calorie counting and upping the walking but I know I need to start some weights or something as my muscle tone is not good.
Need that motivation to get to my final goal 10lb away at BMI 25
but am realising I may want to go a little bit lower when I get there.
Weirdly I am only now discovering what my body looks like. I have been overweight my whole adult life so never paid attention to my body shape I just hid away under whatever fitted. At this weight I can see where I need to shed the last bit of fat and tone up.
I have a wedding in June and would love to be at goal weight and buy a flattering non tent dress.

ClonedSquare · 19/04/2025 18:23

Yes, I’m also semi-plateaued and it’s frustrating. I’ve lost around 3lbs in the past month so overall it’s still ticking slowly downwards but over the course of the week it goes up and down constantly. It’s very hard to stay motivated when the success is less than it was.

I do need to be stricter with myself about healthy eating, as at the moment I think my weight loss is coming just from eating less in total but those calories are coming from crap food!
