Hello,
I've just took my first mounjaro pen.
When I primed it I didn't get any bubbles like it says on the leaflet, I flicked the pen and still nothing are you meant to get air bubbles? I did see the liquid come out the top of the needle so it that all that matters when priming?

You're not meant to get air bubbles, the instructions say:

"Hold your pen with the needle pointing up
Tap the cartridge holder gently to collect air bubbles at the top"

It means any air bubbles that there might be, the further instructions say "Priming removes air from the cartridge and makes sure that your pen is working correctly." You have primed correctly as liquid came out, so if there were any air bubbles, they would have come out with the liquid.

So don't worry, you've done it right. And air bubbles are not dangerous for this kind of subcutaneous injection anyway.

Priming is to check the needle is working ok and so there is no air bubble/air in the needle for an accurate dose (air bubbles not harmful for subcutaneous injection, and the difference in dose would be negligible for MJ).

The main point is to check the needle is ok, better to find out if you have a faulty needle before you stick it in your stomach!
