How to extract golden dose

I have extra needles I have tried twisted pen but it doesn't work. How to do it ?

Easiest and most accurate to know how much you’re injecting is by using insulin injections. They’re 1 ml injections, you can buy from any pharmacy or online. I do recommend over the hard twist method.

Hold the pen upright and insert the needle into the red bung. Pull the end of the syringe until you reach rather 0.6ml (60 on syringe!) or until all of the liquid is extracted if you want a slightly larger dose. You may notice the pen keeps ‘sucking’ the liquid back in (to do with vacuums etc) but it will eventually work if you are patient. Or before inserting the needle you can pull the syringe plunger back to 0.6 and then insert and push that air into the pen to help you draw it out.

Obce you have the amount you want in your syringe, hold it upright, tap as usual and prime and then inject. Easy peasy!

Syringes. Do an online search for Micro-fine 30g 1ml syringe and needle. I get mine from Medbasic. But plenty of places do them.

Work out how much (there are conversion charts on here for the amount needed for the strength you're on). Just pierce the rubber bulb bit at the end of the pen with the syringe, flick it with your nail when it's full to get rid of air bubble and inject.

@3wDavid thank you I really needed that explained I haven't a clue

Davros · 11/02/2025 10:23

I need to understand this. To get a 10mg dose, what syringe do I need to buy or how many syringes -full for a dose? I'm stumped!

murraymcgill · 11/02/2025 10:26

@Davros same I need 7.5 but expect it to be less but I'd take that anyway

Fastburner · 11/02/2025 10:27

Oh I was forced twisting both ways and didn't work need to try again

@Davros 0.6 or 6 (however it reads on your syringe) is the full measure of any dose, doesn't matter if its 2.5mg 10mg etc. The strength is in the medication itself.

Have you broken it? Or still in tact?

ThanksItHasPockets · 11/02/2025 13:08

The hard twist doesn’t work any more; the manufacturers are wise to it and changed the pen design.

Davros · 11/02/2025 15:09

@Randomusernameforcode that is interesting. Thanks so much

BrownJenkins · 11/02/2025 15:51

I've just done a hard twist to get the extra dose. I primed it the usual way then held the pen in one hand and turned the purple end bit using pliers. It was easy, no problem at all.

Yes, it used to be very easy but the mechanism has been changed. You will have a pen from an older batch.

It's a bit of a faff but you can still do it.

That’s not an easy ‘hard twist’ though! That guy fully dismantles the pen to hack it with an Allen key!

Fastburner · 11/02/2025 18:53

On this video the guy managed to twist I can't twist any way is hard to do anything. Maybe I have a new pen.

Buy 1ml insulin syringes from Amazon or wherever. The 'extra' dose is nearly always 0.6ml which is a full weeks dosage of whatever strength of MJ you are taking. Insert the insulin needle into the red rubber bung on the MJ syringe. It should naturally draw the fluid into the insulin syringe. If not, just withdraw it by pulling back gently on the insulin syringe. Then with the insulin syringe in needle up position retract the syringe slightly until you have a gap of air at the top. Then slowly push the plunger on the insulin syringe until a blob of MJ is ejected from the needle. If there are any air bubbles, retract the syringe again and very gently tap the plastic of the syringe against your finger to bring them to the top. Then repeat the process until you have a blob of MJ with no air bubbles. Your dosage is 0.6ml, which might read as 0.6, 6 or 60 depending on what syringe you have. If you buy a 1ml insulin syringe then all of these will be the correct dosage.

It's a new pen on the video. I tried it the other day as my partner doesn't like insulin needles.
