Mounjaro Doses

Hi all,

Some advice please. I’ve just taken my 5mg pen out of the fridge and had my first 2.5mg dose from it (reduced due to side effects last time) I plan on having four 2.5mg doses from the pen in the next few weeks. My question is can I have a fifth dose on the fifth week? It will be in 28 days time and when I’m ready for a fifth if I’m not mistaken meaning the medication is still in date?
Dose 1 - Today
Dose 2 - Next Sunday (16/2)
Dose 3 - Sun 23/2
Dose 4 - Sun 2/3
Dose 5 - Sun 9/3?

Yes that's fine. I actually took a dose on day 34 and all was fine with it working as it should but that was a one off due to slight delay with illness

Why if it’s still within the 30 days? You don’t need to keep it in a fridge usually once you’ve started using it and I’ve not currently got it sorted there

@Manclad because a 5mg pen will last 8 weeks using 2.5mg a week so needs to be refrigerated if you plan to do this

It has enough liquid for 8 weeks, but that doesn't mean it "lasts" 8 weeks as that takes it well beyond the discard after 30 days instruction whether it is in the fridge or not.

Personally I would go to 6 weeks with the 6th injection on day 35, as just a few days over, but 8 weeks (19 days over) is pushing it too far when risks and how quickly and how the medication degrades are unknown.

Thanks for the replies. I’ll just do the 5 weeks and then I know it’s still within date. Not happy going beyond the 30 days.

Anyone know how I can get an additional needle for the pen?
