Just had my 1st delivery. Not gonna lie I'm a bit scared to start.

I think maybe I lost a couple of pounds the first week. Most of that was simply due to dieting and I didn't get much suppression on 2.5mg, but was motivated so did loose weight. I think for me the suppression etc.. has kicked in a bit more on 5 and definitely on 7.5. I do now feel full a lot which is wonderful!

Divebar2021 · 06/02/2025 17:14

Week 1 for me was 3lbs which surprised me as I barely felt any suppression. It was followed by a second week of 1lb. Now on 7.5 I have a lot more suppression although I have no intention of quashing my appetite completely. I’ve lost 2 stone 5 so far.

SilenceInside · 06/02/2025 17:22

You might lose nothing, or you might start with a large loss, or something in between. The initial 2.5mg dose doesn't produce weight loss for everyone, so it might not happen until you've done a couple of weeks and the levels have built in your system. Or till you're on a higher dose.

It's a long term process, where hopefully you will get into a "new normal" and be consistently losing a sustainable amount of weight.

What are you scared of in particular?

NuttyNik · 06/02/2025 17:30

Side effects I guess. I have a busy week in the office next week so could do without worrying about shi**ing myself

9lbs on the first week
5lb second
then 2/3 a week thereafter

SilenceInside · 06/02/2025 17:36

There are thousands of people who are taking Mounjaro without any real issues at all, they just don't post about it online because they don't need to. Fecal incontinence is not a common, frequent or expected side effect. Some people sometimes get D and/or V, this can be minimised by eating "clean" and taking OTC medication if necessary.

I've been taking Mounjaro for 31 weeks now, and had two instances of upset stomach, but nothing that wasn't manageable, and certainly nothing that was in danger of causing a toilet accident.

Andnowshesatoddler · 06/02/2025 17:40

Me - 36 year old 17 stone lost 7lbs week one.
Husband - 42 year old 25 stone lost 5lbs week one.

Eating clean?

As in no processed foods and booze?

SilenceInside · 06/02/2025 18:03

Ideally avoiding lots of processed carbs, fatty, fried foods, sugary things. Not much alcohol, some people seem ok with a small amount. I don't drink so it's not an issue for me. Focus on protein and veg, plus healthy fats, before carbs.

NotMeNoNo · 06/02/2025 18:23

A good couple of kg in first week or so, then slowed. I'm just about to go up to 5mg. No noticeable side effects at all. Definitely had enough appetite suppression to eat small/healthy portions.

True...I've had no side effects

NeverEverOhNo · 06/02/2025 18:27

2lb.

paranoiaofpufflings · 06/02/2025 18:29

I lost 4 lbs in my first week. My appetite suppression started immediately after the first injection, I lost all interest in eating, but felt fine.
I'm on my third month now (up to 7.5mg), still get appetite suppression most of the time but have had no other side effects at all except one instance of vomiting when I'd basically eaten crap over the Christmas week.
Two stone down now on my 10th injection. I feel great!

RobinEllacotStrike · 06/02/2025 18:30

I can't remember. But I've lost 25kg in 6 months.

Winter2020 · 06/02/2025 18:33

2.5lb loss in my first week.

To help avoid an upset tummy avoid greasy /oily foods and very spicy foods. Also avoid continuing to eat when you feel really full - that can also have you dashing for the loo.

ChappRo · 06/02/2025 18:34

5lbs and my start weight was 11st 9lbs

I didn't have any side effects whatsoever on 2.5mg ...

Mysticmaiden2024 · 06/02/2025 19:41

5lbs and I started on 13 stones. It took me 5 weeks of HIIT workouts every other day to lost 5lbs just before I tried mounjaro so I was delighted with that!

user243245346 · 06/02/2025 19:46

Maybe a pound or two? I was already dieting

Hi, how did you get on. I've just started my first round 2.5mg 3 days ago and I feel terrible. I have lost a bit of appetite but I think that's just the nausea.

I am so glad to read your message. I am just 3 days in on 2.5mg and i feel like i cant eat anything without feeling nauseous and my appetite definitely feels suppressed or do you think this is just the nausea?
I have cut out all crisps and snacks so a massive change for me.

danglethedingle · 17/09/2025 11:52

I lost about 2 kg the first week, then its settled down to between 1 - 1.5 a week. TBH I'm not losing a terrific amount more than any fairly strict diet I've been on, but what it has given me it staying power. Its been 12 weeks, and I'm still losing weight, normally I'd be thoroughly peed off with it all by 6 weeks, and jacked it in.

KillerMounjaro · 17/09/2025 12:12

9lbs the first week- needless to say it didn’t continue at that rate!

LikeStrawberriesAndCream · 17/09/2025 12:35

1st week: 7lb
2nd week: 3lb
3rd week: 4.5lb

It's settled to about 1.5lb a week now, after 4.5 month taking it.

I had v high appetite suppression immediately after the first jab, but v few side effects. Sleeping more and feeling cold were the main ones, bit of nausea now & again, and vivid dreams.

lifetheuniverseandeverything42 · 17/09/2025 13:46

Week 1 (2.5mg): 2.65kg / 5.8lb
Week 2 (2.5mg): 2kg / 4.5lb
Week 3 (1.7mg): 1.45kg / 3lb
Week 4 (1.7mg): 1.15kg / 2.5lb

its calmed down from that to about 0.7kg/1.5lb a week now. Starting weight was 98.4kg and down to 81.5kg now.
