Sore injection site

I've been on Mounjaro since August. Lost 3 stone. Very happy.

I'm now on 10mg and injected as usual a few days ago. The site is really sore, raised and itchy.

Has anyone experienced this? What can I do?

I found the hydrocolloid plasters helped. And an antihistamine.

It’s an antihistamine reaction and very common. Take an anti histamine the night before, and then for a couple of days after and use anti histamine cream.

id say once you get it, you usually get it for about 3 months then it stops.

I used to get it for months until I let the pen warm up before injecting and then it stopped and no more. Anti histamine didn't work for me.

Mine started when I changed supplier and the needle brand and length changed. Switched back and all ok now.

I have seen posts on facebook where some people tried moving from 4mm needles to 6mm - 8mm and had less of an injection site reaction as it took the medication slightly further away from the sensitive skin layer. Just be more aware of injection technique when using 8mm needles.

Thanks everyone.
