Medexpress delays?

Getting worried now. Ordered my third pen on Sunday and should usually inject this Sunday.

I got an email to say there are delays and so far it hasn't been prescribed or dispatched! It usually took only a few days for my previous pens. The reason I waited to order was because I couldn't decide whether to stay on 5 or go up to 7.5!

I go on holidays next Thursday and I'm worried it won't come - I still have my pen so I guess I could take what people call golden dose?! I never usually do this so I'm not sure what's involved but I'm scared to go from 5mg to nothing?!

Anybody in a similar position with medexpress?

How strange. I ordered my latest pen on Sunday and it was delivered on Tuesday. I'm on 7.5mg.
Hope it arrives soon.

I've just tried to call them - 20min waiting and now they're closed.

There's no way of cancelling an order and reordering is there? I wish I ordered 7.5 now as I was very much in the fence! Could it be they have a shortage of 5 but not 7.5? I guess if I approach another provider they won't be able to do it in time either 🙈

I ordered on Sunday from MedExpress and it arrived yesterday lunchtime, so 1.5 working days

Thanks - which dose are you on?

5

Myheadhurtsagain · 05/02/2025 17:32

@landobroken do you need 7.5 or 5?

landobroken · 05/02/2025 17:34

I reordered 5 - I have done one month of 5 already and wasn't sure whether to go up or stay but I decided to stay as I wanted to stop after this pen (hoping to TTC in a while once allowed)

I ordered yesterday, it was dispatched today.

landobroken · 05/02/2025 17:35

I'm in NI unless that's a factor but I have had super quick delivery like the above until now no problem. Very strange.

Received this email Monday and nothing since - I did email them to ask but no reply.

Thank you for your recent order with MedExpress.

We wanted to inform you that due to an increase in demand, our clinical team is experiencing a temporary delay of a few days in reviewing and prescribing your treatment.

We recognise your commitment to your health goals and please be assured that this temporary delay in receiving your medication won’t impact your overall weight loss journey.

Your order is in our system and will be carefully reviewed by our expert clinical team. We’re doing all we can to rectify the delay, and have brought in additional staff to help reduce the waiting time.

What happens next

We’ll be in touch if we need any further information to process your order. Otherwise, you’ll receive an email when your prescription has been approved, and another when your treatment is dispatched.

We understand this delay may be frustrating, especially as a returning customer, and we’re working hard to return to our normal service levels soon.

We apologise for the delay and appreciate your patience and understanding.

Yours sincerely,
The MedExpress team

I ordered my 7.5 on Thursday evening, got the same email Friday, and it was despatched Monday and received yesterday.

landobroken · 05/02/2025 18:06

Ok well that's encouraging! Thanks I hope I get similar soon 🙏🏻

So 6 days later I got prescription approved and dispatched this afternoon - I got through on the phone this morning and the lady I spoke to told me "oh there's extra workload for clinicians when you stay on the same dose because they have to do extra checks. Normally you should go up a dose each time." Ok I do not understand that whatsoever! Lesson learnt not to leave it to the last week!

That seems pretty random, surely you'd just stay on the same dose if it's working for you? They must see that all the time, surely.
Glad you got it sorted though.

How odd, I stayed on 5mg and ordered Tuesday afternoon and it was delivered today, much shorter than my other orders have been. Sounds hit and miss

landobroken · 06/02/2025 18:35

She very much sounded like she was making it up tbh. No offence to her!

The response about staying on the same dose sounds like nonsense to me. I stayed on 2.5 for three months, two with MedExpress, and all that happened was that they sent me an email to check that was what I wanted to do. I’ve moved away from them because they clearly have supply problems.
