I'm on my first pen which I got through Med Express. About to take dose 2 tonight so got a couple of weeks to work out what I'm doing. Do people stick to the same providers or do you swap about depending on cost? How would this work as for Med Express I had to do photo, photo ID etc. I'm not sure whether to stick to the one supplier or try and get the best deal going as this is such a push for me to be able to afford it. Just wondered what other people do.

You can do either, whatever you feel most comfortable with.

Personally I've changed once and now stick to one provider for their reliable deliveries, the price difference was minimal (to me), others chase the cheapest for every pen. Do whatever suits you.

I've been with MedExpress since starting in October. I know a few people don't rate them but I've never had any problems. They're not the cheapest but I can't be bothered changing supplier every month to save a few quid. I order my new pen and within 2 days it's on it's way to me.

MedExpress is 149.99 for a 2.5 or 5mg pen without a new customer discount, or without anyone using your referral code. There are several providers who are around the £100 mark at the moment, with new customer discounts, so a fair chunk cheaper. If it's a stretch to afford it, then it may be worth the additional admin of changing providers each order to get the biggest discounts.

You generally fill out the online consultation form, which asks if you are already taking a WLI, and say what dose and what dose you want to order. You then provide photos and whatever else they ask for. It's not too onerous, but you need to allow more time for it to be approved compared to a re-order with the same company.

I started with MedExpress and found their service very good but only competitive pricewise because of their £40 off discount for the first pen. After that, unless you're lucky enough to have people use your referral code, they are not competitively priced, especially as you move up to the higher doses.

I shopped around to take advantage of first order discounts and used Pharmulous for pen 2 (great service and very responsive to emails) .

For pen 3 I tried IQ Doctor but had my order refused without any reason. No idea why. So I ended up using Pharmacy2U. There were a few more questions to answer and a query was raised by the reviewing Pharmacist (reassuring that they are checking orders properly) but it only took a quick email answer before my prescription was approved.

Each time I had to submit a new photo and ID check, plus a picture of the box for my current pen so they could verify date and previous dose. But none of it was complicated and it saved a fair chunk of money. I'm hoping to stay with Pharmacy2U as they offer a discount for repeat orders.

Don't forget to check P&P costs too as this varies from £0 to £10!

I get mine from Simple Online Pharmacy. I didn’t use a discount code and I am prepared to pay the price in full going forward. I’d prefer not to hop around different suppliers as I was only a little over BMI 30 when I started so I suspect I might have issues if I try to obtain it at a lower BMI. I’ve only done just under 2 weeks so far. It’s £139 plus postage from Simple.
