When did side effects hits you?

Planning to start soon but scared of side effects as I have a job where I can't leave the office frequently, so am dreading sickness/diarrhoea! I was going to wait until the weekend,as I read that side effects tend to be greater as soon as you take your first dose (or up the dose) - but now I'm reading that people have it on eg. day 3 or 4 rather than the first day or two.

When did it happen for you?

4th week on Monday and haven't had one side effect yet, just a massive weight loss in that time! I know I'm only on the low dose but so far so good

SilenceInside · 01/02/2025 15:47

Not until about week 7 or 8, and nothing that was impossible to handle. Then again once about a couple of months after that, not as bad. Nothing since, and it's been 6 months now.

Lighterlilly · 01/02/2025 16:22

4 months in, no side effects like over 80 percent of folks.

If I jab on a Thursday, and it's a week I'm going to get side effects (it's a bit hit and miss if I do), I'll have egg burps late Friday morning and the squits Friday afternoon and overnight, and I'll be back to normal by Saturday afternoon.

That's very much the pattern for me - but I've not quite pinned down why I have weeks that I get hit by them versus weeks I don't yet.

TwirlyPineapple · 01/02/2025 17:43

I didn't have any side effects (aside from the desirable ones) until week 20-something. They've stuck around to varying degrees ever since (currently on week 38).

susiedaisy1912 · 01/02/2025 17:47

No side effects on the starter dose.

I've experienced the exact same thing - I'm about 3 months into MJ, and this has happened twice so far. Most weeks totally fine, and now twice I've had GI issues starting 36 hours after the jab and lasting about 24 hours. Super random.

IHateMozzies · 01/02/2025 18:44

Had no sickness and only had diarrhoea once - didn’t need to run to the toilet either.

Each week is different, currently feeling tired with it.

AnnaQuayInTheUk · 01/02/2025 19:27

I took my first dose on a Saturday. On the Monday I literally shat myself in a work meeting. Thank goodness I was at home and it was an online Teams meeting - I logged straight out and ran to the bathroom but didn't make it.....

Thank goodness that was a one off. But I'm about to move up to 5mg and am petrified the same thing will happen again.

Redlightbulb · 02/02/2025 16:30

Early side effects included a few stomach aches after eating my main meal on 2.5 & some mild sulphur burps a couple of weeks into 5.
On 10 now and I get sulphur burps / acid reflux for the first couple of days after injecting and not much after that.
The side effects seem to be subsiding as I have been on my current dose for a couple of months now.
I seem to be more fatigued as well the first few days after I have jabbed.

Mysticmaiden2024 · 02/02/2025 18:10

4 months all fine, on 7.5mg

OuiOuiMonAmi · 02/02/2025 20:51

Thanks everyone ! Does anyone find the injections hurt?

OP posts:
whateveryousay · 02/02/2025 20:54

No, not at all painful.

girljulian · 02/02/2025 20:55

I never really had any.

SnacklessWonder · 02/02/2025 20:56

I never had any side effects.

SilenceInside · 02/02/2025 21:00

@OuiOuiMonAmi the injection doesn't hurt at all. It's a tiny short thin needle, I have done 30-odd of them and they've all been fine.

InfoSecInTheCity · 02/02/2025 21:01

Never so far.

I'm on week 22 and have no negative side effects at all.
