Hangry?

My first dose of wegovy is on its way to me, which is rather exciting. DH is on his 8th week and it's been great to see his appetite change for the better (he had really unhealthy snacking patterns).

I'm worried that I'll be super grumpy on it though. If I'm hungry I get really hangry - very grumpy! I also tend to feel quite weak, which is why diets have not worked for me since starting peri -menopause.

Does wegovy help to sidestep these issues?

Not sure if this is helpful as I'm on mounjaro not wegovey. However, I have noticed i can be physically incredibly hungry but it's like my brain is not impacted at all.

I am usually terrible for "hanger" as in get pissed off if someone even breathes near me when I'm hungry and I can honestly say the RAGE has gone since mounjaro.

I tend to get hangry and weak as well.

I'm on MJ, and it has definitely helped with the hanger issues. I do get weak, because sometimes I forget to eat as there is no hunger sign. I make sure I eat little and often and that seems to work (and make sure I stay within calorie allowance).

If you're hungry on wegovy then eat. You're not supposed to be starving yourself. But to answer your question, yes, of course wegovy helps with not feeling weak/grumpy because it helps you feel much less hungry. That's the point of it!

Are you diabetic? Semaglutide is effective in lowering blood sugar without letting it get too low. Hangry is most associated with low blood sugar, Semaglutide should help stop that. Just eat little and often and follow the guidance.

Thanks for the answers, that's reassuring. I'm not diabetic, but I've always been sensitive to blood sugar levels - fainting when they're low as a child and teenager! Now I've got more reserves, I just get hangry!

I get this too- can be hungry
But the whole 'food seeking behaviour ' and the action of putting food into mouth is disconnected from it!

It's bizarre and wonderful for a binge eater!
