Weight loss injections/treatments

Discuss weight-loss injections and treatments, including personal experiences. Mumsnet hasn't checked the qualifications of anyone posting here. You may wish to speak to a medical professional before starting any treatments.

Is there a beginners' thread for those who haven't yet started but want to find out more?

Hi. Just as the title says really, this is something I'm considering and am about to start with some research. I wondered if there was a 'one stop shop' thread on here, where I could learn more about the types of weight loss medication/injections available, side effects, how to administer it, the support you get, likely successes, etc. I'd also be very interested in cost, since it is unavailable on the NHS in my area. There seems to be so much choice on the market now, and it's quite bamboozling.
I'd greatly appreciate any pointers. Thank you.

For price, check here https://monj.co.uk/ they have a list of suppliers and prices for all the dosages. You don't need to stay with one supplier, you can switch and follow the lowest prices. Although that will get more difficult as your bmi gets lower. Not all of them do maintenance plans. I know oushk and cloud pharmacy do.

I'm with oushk and they've been really good. You can pick your delivery date and choose dpd or royalmail which is what sold them for me.

@JMSA you could try the opening post of this thread, which is is long running thread for those taking Mounjaro.

Continuing Mounjaro... Part 23 www.mumsnet.com/Talk/weight-loss-injections/5202794-continuing-mounjaro-part-23

You can ask questions on there too, if there's anything specific you want to know.

For private prescriptions it's a choice between Mounjaro and Wegovy. Mounjaro is newer, more effective with fewer side effects. Wegovy is the same as Ozempic and has been around longer.

Side effects for both medications are usually mild, if you get any. They can be gastric, or things like headaches, tiredness, nausea.

Thank you all very much. Please excuse my ignorance, but I keep seeings ads for Juniper on my Facebook (the Carole Malone one!). So is Juniper the name of the online supplier, or the actual medication?
This is how new to everything I am Grin

Mounjaro, wegovy are the two most popular, research them and their differences. Mounjaro is the newest and most popular. Once you've done that come back with questions.

Monj. Co.uk is good for prices and safe registered pharmacies. The pharmacy websites are a good place to start researching. Lots of YouTube videos are available too.

Don't use any referrals codes posted on this or other threads in this forum as spamming of threads are not allowed. Got to the weightloss injections promo codes forum for those who share there.

SilenceInside · 25/01/2025 19:18

Juniper is the name of the online pharmacy. There are loads, if you check out the list on the Monj website, Juniper is just one of them.

JMSA · 25/01/2025 19:20

Aah, gotcha. I understand now. Thank you.
I've had a look on Monj and it's extremely helpful. Isn't it crazy how much the prices differ though?!

Bear in mind that you can change providers if you want, in order to take advantage of first time customer discounts. So whichever one you choose you don't have to stick with if you want to get a cheaper price later on.
