@Thelittlestranger the formula is apparently :

Dose extracted / 0.6 * pen strength = taken dose

I had the same amount as you, agree with @Dunkou that is is 2.9mg

HeavyHeidi · 26/01/2025 17:12

Evening all, I took my first dose Thursday evening. No side effects so far. But for the first time in my life, I don't care about food. I never had hunger as such, but I just love food and spent my days either eating or planning what I will eat later. And dieting, of course. For the majority of my life.
And now - nothing. Kids have left an open crisp pack just here on the table - I don't care. There's a massive fruit basket, I love fruit, still nothing. Had a few segments of pomelo and left the rest.
Is that how normal people feel all the time??
And they call me greedy and lazy and suggest that oh you should "just" eat less?

mince3point14159265 · 26/01/2025 17:35

@Grecianrainbow I tried the 59 clicks trick when I took the 4th dose, then when I tried to use it yesterday it clicked round a few times before stopping. I did manage to twist the pen hard to force it round but then it didn't seem to do anything, so I used a syringe. Like TheLittleStranger, I got about 70ml out, so hope that extra bit might act like a bridging dose before going up to 5mg next week. I linked the syringes from ukmedi.co.uk further upthread if you need to get some.

Hi has anyone managed a price match with MedExpress yet? Need another 2.5mg but happy with their service so far! Been reading the Monj page for advice, but I just wondered of anyone's been successful doing a price match as their terms seem very specific!

I just price matched with MedExpress a used Oxford online pharmacy for the 5mg dose a got £16 credit added to account 👍

MummyInTheNecropolis · 26/01/2025 17:45

Oh here you all are! I wondered why the other thread had gone quiet, didn’t even think to look for a new one 🤦‍♀️🤣

I’ve been at home all weekend but haven’t felt hungry and still don’t feel like snacking at all. Had a banana for breakfast then made a big pot of carrot and coriander soup for this week’s lunches. Had a bowl of that with a few crackers and felt stuffed which seems crazy to me - I’ve never felt full up on soup before! Not unless it was accompanied by half a crusty baguette with butter 🤣.

Howinthehelldidthishappen · 26/01/2025 17:48

Grecianrainbow · 26/01/2025 15:55

If you use the bonus dose can you stop short of the “1” the week before then will the pen still work to go round all the way for the extra one?

I did read someone else said this, but i don't know if anyone has tried.
I've already done my fourth and have needles for the fifth dose so I haven't tried.

Howinthehelldidthishappen · 26/01/2025 17:51

And i realised I posted on this thread under a different name to thread 2, and now can't change it 🙄🙂
Weekend away went well, didn't even fancy a drop of alcohol.
And despite the massive cooked breakfasts, mcdonalds, fish and chips, and other foods everyone else was having, I still stuck to my meal plan.
Still a bit heavier than when I went though!
But I do take a weekly average, so hoping by day 7 it'll even out.

Honestly I thought everyone felt the same but I was just so lazy and greedy and everyone else had amazing willpower. I've never really articulated it out loud before but was talking to DH last night and he had no idea I felt this way. He is a chef and loves food but isn't obsessed with it on the scale I am (exactly like how you describe.)

I just dished out mine and DD's tea, gave myself a small portion and left the rest in the pan. I'd usually just pile the leftover amount onto my plate. AND I didn't finish my plate which I don't think I've done for my whole 34 years of being alive. DD had been to the co-op and bought some mini eggs 'for us to share' from her own money so I had two to keep her happy and I'm not interested in having any more. The open packet is sat on the kitchen side and I couldn't care less 🤯It's like I've had a brain transplant!

Thelittlestranger · 26/01/2025 18:42

It's quite an amazing feeling which. I mustn't forget is down to the injection and not my normal.

I'm really sorry, I ordered the syringes a few weeks ago, and I can't remember where from!

MananaMananaPenelope · 26/01/2025 18:44

@discoballv it sounds really positive 🌻.

I bought some dark chocolate mousse things on my food order today, I would normally only have one, leaving seven for my gannets teenagers but I'm not bothered today.

I've been eating 1500 cals for a long time, the thought (alone) of eating 1000 cals a day made me feel really deprived before I'd even started. I've had 940 cals today and I've done for the day. Stuffed.

It will be interesting to see how we all get on as we journey through the doses.

HeavyHeidi · 26/01/2025 18:53

Kids wanted to go to Burger King. I wasn't even planning to eat, but then realised I had barely eaten anything, did a good hour of weightlifting so need some protein. Got 4 wings. Im full. No desire to hoover up kids' fries. None.

Of course it's easy to 'just eat less' if that's how you always feel.

discoballv · 26/01/2025 19:04

I saved syringes link someone posted before, not sure if they are the same ones ukmedi.co.uk/products/fms-micro-syringe-32g-8mm-1ml-fms-fms-32g-10ml-ukmedi-co-uk

Has anyone else find it has affected their period? Probably TMI but this is the first time I’ve had a proper period in over a year as I’m menopausal.

SlimmingCavendish · 26/01/2025 20:11

Evening all, it’s been a month since I started my MJ journey, and I’ve finally worked up the courage to share my experience after reading all your inspiring posts.
I ordered MJ just before Christmas, after a lot of research and soul-searching. I decided to take my first dose on Boxing Day evening. A little Xmas gift to myself!
I started with the 2.5mg dose and last week I stepped up to 5mg. So far, it’s been a smooth transition. I’ve been pleasantly surprised to experience very few negative side effects. No nausea, headaches, or other common complaints.

I noticed suppression from day one. It’s helped me manage my cravings and reduce the food noise.
I am finding it tough to hit my daily protein goals, whist maintaining a range of 1500–1700 calories per day. So work to do there, but hitting the “stone” loss in month one has definitely motivated me to keep trying :)

SW - 127.7kg
CW - 121.2 kg
GW - 90kg

Yes, lots of posters on the MJ threads are saying the same. I mentioned on the earlier thread I wouldn't be surprised if there a quite a few shock "mounjaro babies"!

I've been away overnight and today is the first day I've felt really nauseous - that pregnancy nausea that people have been mentioning. I ended up drinking 3 or 4 cocktails last night but not eating much so it could be that. Today I've just been picking at rubbish really - had a spoonful of scrambled egg, some mushrooms and a bite of sausage at the hotel. Then on the way home I had quite a few mint imperials to try and combat the yucky taste in my mouth. I also got one of those grenade protein bars at the service station and my god it was revolting - tasted like plasticine covered chocolate! So I won't be buying those again. I also tried a protein yoghurt last week but I find those disgusting too, I think il have to stick to meat, eggs etc for my protein.

Im exhausted and having an early night, it's funny bc I jab on a Friday and last week it was again the Sunday that I felt ill and knackered. Hopefully like last week Il have a 10 hour sleep and feel better tomorrow.

JoanCollinsDiva · 26/01/2025 20:31

Hi there SlimmingCavendish 👋

Well done on your losses so far, a stone in a month is amazing! Everyone on here seems to be doing great so far.

GrumpyMuleFan · 26/01/2025 20:38

Can I ask some advice? I’m due to have my third injection next Sunday but am now taking a 11.5 hour flight that day. Should I have my jab a day earlier/later? I’ve not had any reactions apart from a poor sleep on injection day and some nausea day after injection.

I may be over thinking this. Anyone else done a long flight?

Yep I had a little mini one a week after I’d stopped - thought it was more annoying peri body but now, after reading all the posts, think it was jab

You will be fine to change your jab day either earlier or later.
You can technically take the jab up to 4 days late and you can take it early as long as there has been at least 3 days since your last jab.
Just had a quick Google to make sure I'm not talking rubbish and that advice is on the super drug website.

herinthehill · 26/01/2025 21:15

I'm so impressed with everyone's losses. It's brill.
I took my first jab on Friday afternoon and I've mainly felt nauseous. Also, I'm still finding I'm getting hunger pangs, but seem to just be able to eat a small bit. So I've probably eaten at 5 or 6 points today, but something small each time. I feel like I'm not getting the suppression that lots of people seem to experience... will keep positive as I'm only on day 3. I also don't want to go too fast as I usually stack weight back on if I do that.

I feel exactly the same, and as you said, “is this how normal people feel about food”. In a way, I feel quite sad that I’m no longer overjoyed thinking about delicious food anymore…it’s so alien to me to not constantly crave ice cream, bread, cake, chocolate etc

mince3point14159265 · 26/01/2025 22:39

Glad everyone is gradually finding the thread again; I tried to tag as many people as I could but then when I saw the number of names on the previous one, thought I might be at risk of a soft ban for spamming the thread if I tagged everyone! 🤣

Wishing everyone good luck for the week ahead 🍀

I’ve just ordered my second pen with MedExpress, I want to move up to 5mg, I’m sure that’s what I selected when I ordered but my confirmation email says I’ve ordered 2.5 again. I’ve messaged them and asked to change it, I hope it’s not a problem 🤞.

MananaMananaPenelope · 27/01/2025 05:38

Ouskh have messaged asking for a full body picture this morning, I didn’t have to do one for my first prescription. Can anyone tell me if it is just dressed normally, please don’t tell me it’s an underwear shot 😳.

Torturedpoetsdepartment13 · 27/01/2025 05:39

Thanks for new thread @mince3point14159265 . @HeavyHeidi I can relate. Have always given myself such a hard time, beating myself up about lack of willpower and internally body shaming and wonder if this is how lots of people experience life, just not really thinking or caring about food much.
I am in week 2 day 5 have lost 8lbs which is awesome as scales have been going only in the opposite direction for 3 years since I had total shitstorm of hysterectomy menopause and marriage falling apart.
I have been feeling slightly unwell, dry mouth, really cold a lot and also very very tired throughout. Anyone else experiencing this? Trying to drink loads of water and regular protein rich meals but not sure whether to increase dose or stay same.
