I'm perimenopausal and usually hot. Since starting on mounjaro last Saturday I've been freezing!!!

Not that quickly, but when I lost 25lbs I definitely started feling the cold rather than being permanently overheated.

hopeishere · 17/01/2025 17:20

Yes when I started it I was sooooo cold!!

CornishPorsche · 17/01/2025 17:21

Yep, permanently bloody freezing. It's a very common side effect of the drug (rather than the later weigh loss!).

Snozzlemaid · 17/01/2025 17:58

Yes, permanently cold here. My family can't get used to me being freezing all the time, I used to radiate heat before.

I'm looking forward to hopefully coping with hot weather much better in the summer.

morbidcuriosity · 17/01/2025 18:38

Yes, and it's bloody annoying... I've never been a cold person. But now my heating bill has doubled, I have a heated throw and hot water bottle for my bed..

It's odd but hoping that means I won't be a hot sweaty mess this summer if its hot!! .

Goinghome20 · 17/01/2025 18:41

I got this the fiest few weeks. Its was really odd as I am in meno and usually produce my own central heating. It has lessened now I am on Wk6 but I am not boiling all thr time like before.

Aitchtee · 17/01/2025 19:02

Yes. Best investment I made is a plug in throw!

Caffeineneedednow · 17/01/2025 19:47

Yep 3 months in, fucking freezing.

FlipYouCouldBeMe · 17/01/2025 20:02

Yes! . I'm only on 2.5mg - soon to be moving up to 5! Yey!

But yes, I'm freeeeeezing! I sleep with an electric blanket, hot water bottle and full pjs and socks! And right now I am snuggled on the sofa with a hot water bottle! Still can't seem to get warm so keep going to the car for the burst of hot air from the car heater!!!

EternalFatalist · 17/01/2025 21:02

Being cold all of the time is the only side effect that I have experienced. It started on week one and hasn't gone away. But I'm so relieved that it is the only side effect I have had!

uggmum · 17/01/2025 21:05

I am the same. Cold all the time.
I have bought thermals and I wear them all day, everyday.

Lola3034 · 17/01/2025 22:57

I keep on checking the thermostat because feels like the heating is not on. Socks on in bed and thick jumper on at all times. I used to always wear t-shirt under a winter jacket. This year I purchased hat and gloves for a first time in years and started wearing it when out and about 😅.

Divebar2021 · 17/01/2025 23:01

Yes sadly it’s a recognised side effect… I’m
on month three and I’m afraid that’s still the same. For extra fun I had hot flushes EVERY HOUR for the first month. Thank god those went because that was exhausting.

RedHillLady · 18/01/2025 08:53

I feel better knowing that it's not just me!

So I only did my first injection on Thursday but I was freezing last night. I do run cold and my husband runs hot so we have heating battles regularly but yesterday we had heating, I have my oodie and a blanket and I was still cold to the touch. Even DDs (who are team me in the wars) said it wasn't cold.

Then I woke up sweating at 5 as I was piled high with layers. Am now cold again

YouAreEffluentKim · 20/01/2025 11:39

I'm 10 months in and I'm still really struggling with regulating my body temperature. I'm usually super cold, like to my bones cold, but sometimes I can feel my feet are actually hot to the touch but I still feel like they're cold.

It's horrible and I can't wait for the weather to get warmer. This was one of the few side effects I've experienced (and to be fair I've always run cold) and I'd hoped it would have passed by now

CaptainCabinetsTrappedInCabinets · 20/01/2025 11:48

Yep always cold here too!

I'm putting it down to MJ reducing my blood pressure and weight loss. But it does seem to be very common. Even my friend who is much bigger than me still says he's freezing all the time!

ElsaMars · 20/01/2025 11:53

I'm peri and been on MJ for 6 months, I'm always freezing and this morning I woke up because my legs felt so cold. I often have 2-3 layers on, plus heating and I'm still cold.
I'm also usually too hot and sweaty all summer, so I'm really looking forward to not feeling gross and irritable when it's hot!
