Anyone not telling anyone?

I’ve done my second jab today, still not told anyone. Might just not but does feel weird.

I have only told my other half and my parents - other than that, I don't feel the need to tell anyone. Its your choice but I think a lot of people pass judgement when they don't really know what they are talking about.

Onceachunkymonkey · 15/01/2025 16:58

Do you have a partner you live with?

Onceachunkymonkey · 15/01/2025 16:58

Sorry to add I told my husband, daughter, best friend, and gp. The rest of my family and friends I have not,

I also took my second jab today. I haven’t told anyone. Not sure if I'm going to or not. Don't really want the expectation or pressure on me to make it work. Or raise anyone's hope. I have 10 stone plus to loose

My advice: don't tell anyone that doesn't know what you have been through. People say stupid, hurtful things, and now is the time to focus on you.

I have told my nurse friend and I’m assuming my drs have been told but other than that, no. It’s no one else’s business and it’s my journey. I didn’t get obsese for no reason and it’s up to me to work out why. I know some people love to share and that’s fine but I don’t see the point. If we had a pre Covid NHS in place then I would - but given, (where I live), I can’t speak to a dr or go to A&E then it’s pointless.
my health is up to me. I go to the gym a lot so I’m not sitting on my sofa miraculously getting thinner. People have noticed but I say I’ve stopped eating as much and do more classes - both true.

Given the amount of lurkers and vocal opponents of MJ that frequent these boards who are snippy and awful I am certainly not putting myself up for that nonsense IRL and most certainly not lining myself up for abuse for what reason ?!

DH, DM and one friend knows.

to everyone else I’m loosing weight through diet and exercise

you can see from threads on here that there’s a great deal of ignorance, prejudice and sometimes hate about WLI

I don’t want to experience that in real life

supafish · 15/01/2025 19:45

Have told my husband and best friend . Will probably tell people when and if it ever starts to show that I'm loosing weight ! I'm right at the beginning!

NewbieMama2024 · 15/01/2025 20:04

Only my husband and best friend know (apart from my GP which I know have been informed but I didn't tell them directly). I didn't want the questions / expections to add the extra pressure from others - if anyone notices I'm losing weight, I'll just gracefully accept their compliments!

Similar thinking to me. One of my best friends knows, because I thought someone should, but beyond that I don't want to say anything until it shows that I've lost weight. Otherwise it felt a bit like I'm asking for 'oooh you can totally see you've lost weight babe' comments the whole time!
I can't remember if I read it here or Reddit but the theory was that the first stone off no-one notices, the second only you do and other people do from the third. I'm coming up to two stone off and am starting to see changes so I may start telling people soon.
