My amazing auggies ladies 💖 - another thread and heading for 6mths in !!!

Be proud of us all.

We conquered our first Christmas and many of us sts or lost. Which is a first.

Those who gained it was 1-2lbs (minus the lady who ate her family and gained 18lbs) 😂😂 and the gain has come off

So to a new 2025 - some are getting near their goal and thinking about maintenance

Some still have a way to go to get to their happy weight

Some are on the highest dose of 15

Some are 5 and below

Everyone welcome

Weigh day tomorrow. And I think I'm going to jab 10.
Yesterday I'd have told you I've lost 2kg this week but I had a cheeky look on the scales today and I'm sts as earlier in the week. Sigh. So 🤞 for tomorrow.

Fingers crossed for tomorrow and a whoosh @FlappingMadly

@poppym12 enjoy your holiday without any guilt! I can't wait to go back to Fuerte in April! As for goal weight..wait and see how you feel. Don't let your age determine your weight..I am 68 and am so happy I am near my goal (again!) It's been a lifelong battle but MJ has made it possible. My weight has fluctuated between 14 stone and 7 stone 12 (the lowest weight was when I was 21 and I had to diet constantly) 7 stone 12 was the middle of my healthy BMI weight range at the height of 5 foot. This time I am aiming for 9 stone but the top of healthy BMI for me is 8 stone 11 pounds

Azuresky68 · 16/01/2025 14:15

Good luck to everyone weighing tomorrow and fingers crossed for a whoosh!!

poppym12 · 16/01/2025 15:12

Thank you @Azuresky68 . I think my main worry is that I'm already resembling a part melted candle after a 3stone loss so I don't want to look at BMI charts and convince myself I need to get to a certain weight if it ages me even more and makes me feel even more crap about myself.

I've been doing more walking in Fuerteventura (or rather plodding) as my pain always reduces drastically when here.

I'm hoping to begin some resistance training when I get home.

poppym12 · 16/01/2025 15:17

Thanks @FlappingMadly, @Blondeshavemorefun and @owlyboo.

Can't believe my last minute break is almost over already. Time doesn't pass this quickly when I'm sitting in rainy Somerset!!

NippyNinjaCrab · 16/01/2025 15:49

Hello, I'm so super tired today! ME aside i think it's the MJ. My jab day is meant to be Friday but sometimes I forget and do a Sat, we'll last week I jabbed Thursday evening, 3.75 and then braved it and did the remaining 1.25 Sunday evening. Well.... I've been looking at the Shotsy app and it says that on Sunday that jab took me just over 6mg so no wonder I'm tired and I've had no appetite 😂 it says today I'm still at 3.89mg. I know this cannot be 100% accurate but now I don't want to Jab tomorrow lol. I'm a woose, it's the fatigue, it's bad enough without the MJ.

@WorriedRelative I LOVE the Archers! Linda makes me laugh 😂

@Blondeshavemorefun IF is intermittent fasting. Xx

Weepixie · 16/01/2025 15:59

I also go beyond 30 days (usual disclaimers etc) and will carry on. I wish they would use the US model of single dose pens as I think it would make maintenance much more flexible

Hi Weasel, did you mean that you use the pens after the usual 30 day recommendation? It’s something I’ve wondered about - why they tell us not to.

SilverSprings510 · 16/01/2025 16:32

@poppym12 nutracheck sets mini goals for me which change when I hit them. If I put my goal weight in (somewhere in the 9st bracket) I would feel totally overwhelmed as I’m a long way away from there.

Weepixie · 16/01/2025 17:36

@SilverSprings510 I use nutracheck and my goal is always 1kg at a time. I couldn’t handle this journey any other way.

Timetofindme · 16/01/2025 17:45

@poppym12 no goal weight for me. It seemed too daunting at the start so I'm just celebrating the losses as I go along. For me not having a GW was very much a mindset decision as it just seemed so far away to be unachievable and I've no idea what it would be or what is realistic. I know what I weighed at my thinnest (and wanted to be half a stone less!) but I'm a good few years older than that now.

If setting a GW seems too daunting or not for you, then just set or celebrate the steps along the way - it's advice I was given when I started and it's worked for me 🙂

I'm hungry today too @Blondeshavemorefun but I'm expecting a gain when I get home.

Just trying to catch up on the thread and many of you speak about your goal weight (and I might be a little bit envious about how close many of you are to it).

I haven't set a weight goal. For the purpose of logging calories and weight on various apps I put 75kg (l'm just over 5'8) but I think that's still in the overweight bracket?

I started at 109.3kg and was a gnats fart under 90 kg before I came away (annoyingly slow as I can't exercise and was on crutches for months). Should I set a goal weight? I tend to just see how things pan out these days as I can be very hard on myself and if I stop losing weight before the 'goal', I'll beat myself up constantly at having failed.

I suppose I'd love to be a size 12 again but at mid 50s, I'm not sure I'll manage it - or maintain it.

So, ponderings from a sun lounger on the beach.....is anyone else just winging it to just see where they end up weight wise?

I watched a TikTok the other day and the woman was saying ‘I’m always asked what my goal weight is………one chin…….my goal weight is one chin!! ‘ 😂😂😂

PoemsForTea · 16/01/2025 18:40

I dont have a goal weight as such - somewhere between 11 and 13! Definitely winging it.
SW 17.9
CW 14.6
I log 1100-1200 cals a day - but i don't count/record things like milk/mayonnaise/odd teaspoon of sugar in a hot lemon drink type of thing as I dont want to be obsessive.
At 53 I have found I just can't eat bread/pasta anymore, it bloats me and triggers my IBS. So I have a diet now which is working for a menopausal busy woman on HRT and with Mirena - oh yeah & with arthritis 😆
I have learnt in the last 6mths what i need to do post MJ to maintain and I think i will be following some kind of 5/2 diet or some kind of fasting regime - tbc!!

I loved the comment from someone that said her Arse now resembled a mud slide 😆

weaseleyes · 16/01/2025 18:45

@Weepixie Personally, yes I do go over 30 days. As I've been using quite low doses, I'd have had to throw too much away unused otherwise and I can't afford to! I check they still look clear and keep them in the fridge, so am not too worried if I go a few days over. I think the main issue is not necessarily that they will definitely go off, but that they haven't been proven to be safe over that period, plus there is a risk of introducing infection/contamination if you repeatedly insert needles in them. Obviously most people will be more conscientious han me, which is probably best! However, this could be circumvented if we could buy a single dose here.

Oh and am on my second 10mg pen

MrsHerbs79 · 16/01/2025 19:10

I started at 16st 6 and am at 13st 4 (weigh day tomorrow). I don’t count calories at all…….i just try to focus on protein. Full disclosure I really don’t eat enough! I don’t eat bread anymore but that’s because I don’t enjoy it anymore……mj has definitely changed my tastebuds…….bread used to be my kryptonite!!! My goal weight at the moment is 11st 7 although I may move it down to 11st when I’m nearer. BMI says my ideal weight is between 9st and 12st 1 although I think I’d look awful closer to 9st…….I’m 5ft9 xxx

owlyboo · 16/01/2025 19:12

@NippyNinjaCrab oh no! Hope you get some more energy soon 🤞🤞

Well done for being back on track @wohmum

Thanks @FlappingMadly

Yeah @Blondeshavemorefun so far so good on 15, actually if anything I feel less nauseous than on 12.5! Well done for staying strong without suppression hope you get a loss tomorrow!

Sorry you're feeling tired @Azuresky68 hope you get a good nights sleep tonight and feel better tomorrow!

@Mum0ntherun I don't count calories but sounds about right for you, I don't think you could eat any less at your height/weight. Would be very little! Well done on the weight loss! I've noticed loose skin on my stomach and thighs... don't think there's much you can do!

@Weepixie you can definitely delay a few days

@poppym12 I think only set a goal if you like it'll help you. I think a goal size is a good place to start. I don't think a 12 is unachievable in your 50s! Also 19kg is a fab loss! Also I'm sure you don't resemble a half melted candle!

Good luck to everyone weighing in tomorrow 🤞 for you all!

Blondeshavemorefun · 16/01/2025 19:46

Sorry so tired @NippyNinjaCrab that’s the problem with split dosing

tho wouldn't it be 5 not 6

not sure how you forget. Remember WWJ

Thanks about IF

wee
weigh
jab

@Weepixiei think they did did trials on 30 days so can’t advise to go longer

if they did single doses would that mean easier to budget for as could buy weekly and be 1/4 of what we pay now outright

but many do on the boards

I'm a lurker, usually hiding behind the sofa like @BettyandtheVets 😁.
But I have a question re the Shotsy app please, do you pay for it? It's offering a 7 day free trial if I sign up for a year. Thanks

NippyNinjaCrab · 16/01/2025 20:01

@Blondeshavemorefun I don't jab after I widdle and weigh, I go straight for my coffee 😁
Then the day trundles on and I keep saying aw i need to jab, then I'm in bed and I do it Sat 😴 yes I injected 3.75 then 1.25 but Shotsy says in my system it's more, look 👀 I've added pics. Xx

@doingitthistime aw me and @mabelspan were testers for android version in beta and we got a free lifetime membership to the app. X

I don't count calories but have a rough idea.
The goal I enter for MJ is 75 but I'm 5,4 and I should be around 60., maybe less. I want to be comfortably smaller, not too bothered about the number.

Usernamechangeforthis12 · 16/01/2025 22:24

@NippyNinjaCrab - why’d you jab extra this week? I think I’d wait a few more days before your next one.

I’ve used my pens after 30 days. I get every last drop out. I also don’t keep them in the fridge, but do keep them cool.

I think when I made the decision to start MJ back in the summer, I didn’t really think I’d ever actually get to this point so my goal was 10st, but I didn’t think that would ever be possible. As I get closer, I now think 9&1/2 would be comfortable but I’m not sure how it’ll look on me. I also have some melty candle areas and don’t want anymore!

I’m not with a provider who offers maintenance so I’m not sure what I’ll do when I get to my goal or when they stop prescribing to me.

This week I jabbed my usual 3.75 (Monday) but suppression is so strong today, I’ve struggled to eat. I may go down to 2.5mg next week and see how that goes.
