My amazing auggies ladies 💖 - another thread and heading for 6mths in !!!

Be proud of us all.

We conquered our first Christmas and many of us sts or lost. Which is a first.

Those who gained it was 1-2lbs (minus the lady who ate her family and gained 18lbs) 😂😂 and the gain has come off

So to a new 2025 - some are getting near their goal and thinking about maintenance

Some still have a way to go to get to their happy weight

Some are on the highest dose of 15

Some are 5 and below

Everyone welcome

Hello everyone. Do you mind if I join in? I've been reading the thread and you seem like a supportive bunch. @owlyboo that's amazing!

I started on 3rd August at 15 stone 6, and last Saturday I was 12 stone 1, so happy so far. Revelling in "only" being overweight not obese, but my target is to be categorised as normal too😆which for my height seems to be about 10 stone 5, so still a way to go.

I'm two weeks in to 12.5mg and so far so good. I inject on a Saturday, and find that so long as I don't eat anything on a Sunday until about 2pm, I have no side effects. Weeks where I forget myself and have breakfast result in me feeling truly horrid for a couple of days - no d&v just really queasy and dizzy.

My busy time for work ends 31st January, so my next plan is to get moving to see if that helps, as I've done absolutely nothing so far. To stop myself wimping out, I've pre-paid for 6 weeks of group strength training for women over 30. I'm 56, so it may still be full of lean young things, but I'm hopeful they'll be some like me otherwise it's all too intimidating. It's outdoors, so pray for warmer weather by 10th February!

owlyboo · 29/01/2025 17:05

Thanks @whethertheweather and welcome! Well done on your loss so far and signing up for the gym! I used to go to the gym a lot pre covid and went to some small strength classes that tending to be all the same women there. I struck up a friendship with a lady who was older than me. And we still keep in touch now and meet up. (I'm now mid 30s and she's mid 50s) so don't worry about ages!

weaselyeyes · 29/01/2025 18:04

Welcome @whethertheweather ! Excellent losses since August and a brave exercise sign up 😀

And congrats to @owlyboo for being all normal, healthy and slender! That must feel fantastic!

owlyboo · 29/01/2025 18:11

@weaselyeyes I'm definitely not normal 🤪

Thanks you! It feels great... surreal but great... 7ish more pounds to my new goal but only if I comes off without doing anything differently I won't be changing anything and killing myself to lose them. If they come off great if they don't they don't.

owlyboo · 29/01/2025 16:35

So it's not my official weigh day but I'm recording it as I've officially hit my target (my original target anyway as now I want to lose a little more!)

I was hoping to hit it by the end of February so hit it a month earlier than expected!!

I'm officially a 'normal' BMI! (Just 🤣) 🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳

Have lost 66 pounds now... which seems just insane!

OMG that is amazing well done!

poppym12 · 29/01/2025 18:27

Well done @owlyboo. Amazing achievement 🎉

WorriedRelative · 29/01/2025 18:30

Sorry just catching up @BBlondeshavemorefun OMG velcro fanny flaps 🤣🤣🤣🤣

That is what I need, not sure about adding that feature though, it might chafe......

DH will be so pissed off if I roll in late, pissed, and then wake him up to help me get out of my jumpsuit! Not being able to go to the loo might be a good incentive not to drink too much though 🤔

Mum0ntherun · 29/01/2025 12:39

I have always been in PR - don't know what else I would do TBH, and financially, I need a certain level to stay afloat. I'm topping things up with some freelance work, which I hate doing but needs must. Only Fans and feet pics is the next step 😁😂

Sorry to hear things are rough work wise. Job hunting is awful. Stick with the freelance in it might open some doors (I got a permanent role by doing locum work) and if it doesn't it keeps your skills current.

Have you tried applying for roles slightly above your comfort level rather than below? If a recruiter is struggling to fill a role they often consider a candidate they like who needs a bit of upskilling. It sends a much more positive message than applying for more junior roles.

You have my sympathy though, the market is weird, I am struggling to recruit at the moment and we're so short staffed it is exhausting.

Thanks lovely. I'm doing that too. No avenue I government tried 🥺 Just got to keep going until it gets better. 🤞🏻

owlyboo · 29/01/2025 22:34

Thanks @Motnight

And thank you @PoemsForTea 😊 so kind. Are you midlands? 'Bab' all my family and me originally are midlands! But I've been in Devon since a little girl.

I can't wait to celebrate every single one of us hitting that milestone!

Blondeshavemorefun · 29/01/2025 23:34

Thank you @Motnight. Very unlike me. Feel better today. Still very thirst though. Not eaten much but hopefully Tom I will eat

another 4mths or so for me to reach it. If I manage it. Still can’t imagine if I do that I have lost 6st

You'll do it @Blondeshavemorefun you've already lost so much the next few will come and you'll be there before you know it. Hope you feel better and manage to eat more tomorrow.

I wonder if a meet up further down the line is possible. Just stick a pin in the map and hope people could get there.

That's a fabulous idea! I recently had a meetup wirh school friends celebrating 50 years since we left school. We picked York as a fairly central place as some people were in Scotland and some were in the south.
