Would people who've hit their target weight be interested in a general thread on how they are getting on? You might be titrating your WLI down, you might be going cold turkey, you might be on a maintenance programme or you might have gone back on.

I used MJ for 5 months and I've hit my goal and I'm muddling through with my own version of "maintenance". I'm doing a 1.25 dose weekly to use up what I've got left and cut down gradually, so I don't lose all the benefits of MJ immediately. I was a complete lightweight and did the whole 5 months on just 2.5, as I had savage suppression and loss of appetite. So, I'm just halving my dosage.

I'd be interested to hear how others are getting on, given it all feels a bit new and the long-term aspects of weight maintenance are not yet much talked about.

Tbh @Histoscientist that’s how I feel. Didn’t kick in till 10

very jealous of those who on 5 or even less and have strong suppression

it def helps with inflammation which is weird and amazing

I have gone back to 10 this week as go on holiday in 2w and don’t want to be in pain and hobble

that was me last year and with arthritis in hips why I lost weight 6.5s in all

would love a cheaper tablet

i don’t seem to be struggling with hunger and sometimes can’t eat all my cals. Have another 660c a day to maintain so now on 1860 and was 1200 and I eat like a queen 😂

im on it for pain rather then weight loss

but that may change

MargoLivebetter · 18/07/2025 09:35

Welcome @Blondeshavemorefun . Lovely to see a fellow August 2024 starter here! Congrats on all you've lost and maintaining too.

Sorry to hear about the arthritis pain coming back. I found lots of things initially came back when I stopped, but they have settled back down again now. My arthritis pain isn't gone as much as it was whilst I was on MJ, but it is definitely 80% better than it was before I started - if that makes sense.

Thank you for posting your experience. This really helps. Were you still eating healthy? Did you go high protein and low carb? Did you have food cravings for junk?

Edited

Yes I was still eating healthily but if I know I’m going out to eat in the evening for example, I try and eat less than I would in the day.
I never really counted calories religiously whilst on MJ because i cook a lot and it was hard to work out but I was aware of calories in things if it makes sense so I made changes that I can maintain afterwards and continued to eat more protein, less carbs.
I do crave sweet things especially after having one so I try not to have them at home when I can help it because I can’t eat what I don’t have.
I snack on fruits and vegetables a lot and then have snacky treats at home that are less calories but don’t make it seem like I’m missing out and I still drink lots of water. Now I’ll drink water before my meal so that i get full quicker, so still mimicking the fullness feeling I had whilst on the jab and when I feel like snacking, I drink water first and it’s just become routine with time.

I think I'll have arthritis when I hit menopause too as my mum has it now. Trying to take vitamins etc but don't think it will work. It does sound painful, I hope 10mg helps you on holiday.
Eating like a queen 👸 🤣🤣 that will be me hopefully one day, managed 853 cals yesterday due to high suppression. Its still high and jab day today 🙈 thanks for sharing your experience and 6.5st loss is amazing well done 😊

Thanks for sharing tips of what works for you, always handy to hear from others which may help us in the upcoming tapering down stage!

Please can I join? I started in October 24 at BMI 30 and got to goal of BMI 23 in Feb. I stayed at a low dose until about a month ago when I stopped.

My problem, like many others is inflammation. My rheumatoid arthritis was non existent on MJ, my mood was better and my feeling of running on adrenaline was gone. Sadly this has crept back in and the last 2 weeks I have been in so much pain with my joints, my sleep has been terrible and my blood sugar is all over the place. Also gained 2kgs without a change in diet.

so I’ve gone back to 2.5mg for a while then will hopefully micro dose at 1.25mg as I never went above 2.5 mg whilst losing the weight.

I took it Friday and already feel a little better. I have slept well and I was able to ride my pony yesterday and today but the last two weeks have been too sore to even tack my pony up.

will keep you updated!

Blondeshavemorefun · 20/07/2025 21:58

It’s crazy @ForLoveNotMoneyhow the pain and inflammation stop on it

ForLoveNotMoney · 21/07/2025 07:47

It’s mad isn’t it! I’ve been in pain with my joints for years and it all just stopped on MJ.
day 3 after injecting 2.5mg and I definitely feel better. Not as swollen or in full body pain. It’s mostly my hands and back rather than my whole body.

I would happily pay for this drug purely for the anti inflammatory benefits (plus it’s nice to not think about food all the time!)

Blondeshavemorefun · 21/07/2025 12:59

That’s how I feel

for the pain not for the weight
tho still a cost

bge · 21/07/2025 13:20

I wonder if there is any way to report this. Side effects (negative) can be reported but this sort of positive effect should be noted somewhere too, for future research

lapuf · 22/07/2025 01:32

I’ve been off for two weeks now so only a tiny bit left in my system, last jab was about 3.5 I think.

my appetite has definitely increased but I manage it with a few cashews or a mini cheese to take the edge off if it’s not a mealtime yet.

My range is 8st 10 to 9st and I’m weighing daily to check I’m still there! I am due on my period this week and dreading it as the endometriosis symptoms were massively alleviated by the injections Sad that would be my main incentive for staying on it if I was going to!

well done to new joiners Halo

Update from me. I came off in April for a holiday, put on 5lbs. Had a pen in the fridge for back up so used it end of May.
just got back from 2 weeks all inclusive holiday. Was 8 lbs up, 2 lbs have come off already. I have a back up pen in the fridge again but I have joined a local gym ( I do no exercise!) and am going to try and lose a few pounds before I resort to the pen again. It sounds a bit chaotic but I have always gained after holidays and Christmas. If I could have 2/3 pens a year to nip things in the bud I’d be happy with that. I’m not sure how easy it will be to get them prescribed though. I am with Oushk but supposed to be on the taper plan not the flex.

Gotya12 · 22/07/2025 08:53

lost 2 of the pounds I’ve put on another 2 to go to weight I got to on munjaro. Having to calorie count and I’m hungry but so be it!

MargoLivebetter · 22/07/2025 09:05

@Sadteacher firstly well done for already shedding 2lb that you gained. What happens on the holidays that leads to so much weight gain?

Sounds good @Gotya12 and @lapuf .

I’m still a long way from maintenance, but has anyone tried one month on and one month off. I figured it would halve the cost but you’d still be using the pens 100% so not wasting them but also not going over the 30 days. Curious to know this has worked for anyone? Thanks

I think or certainly from my experience to date that the cumulative effect is the biggest part of the WLI. Hence why some people can have reactions after 3 weeks, 2 months etc as it builds up. So can’t imagine that would work but may be worth a try when you get there?? I think most extend the time between as per instructions from supplier and either dispose of after 30 days or accept and understand taking precautions as they see fit to extend the lifespan of the pen. It’s given a life span as that’s as far as the testing went in trials. So it’s simply not known or tested as to longer like best before and use by dates on food. It’s the same concept. Be interesting to play around with a method that suits you I guess once you are there! It’s a nice dilemma to have 😂😂

You can swap month by month

if you want a pen every now and again you need to pay think £15 a month

Sadteacher · 22/07/2025 20:49

@Blondeshavemorefun the flex plan seems a bit hit and miss though, I’ve seen posts on here with people unsure how to pay the £15 a month. I’m not sure they have the system working properly yet. I have also seen plenty of posts with people managing to get a prescription with previous prescribers after a break without paying a retainer. I am going to take a gamble I think….. wish me luck!

There's people in Oushk maintenance that do that. Ultimately I don't think some providers care so much providing your bmi isnt too low and you are still buying off them regularly ..

I think that's what I'm planning, eventually. I'm at the start of my maintenance journey, currently stretching out 5mg doses before curring back to 2.5mg. Then I hope to take 2.5mg every 2nd month. I think that will give me a chance to see how I respond to 'normal' hunger, but with the back up of a low dose of MJ to help (if I need it).

I wonder if you don't mind me asking, when you say you had a pen in the fridge, was it 2.5mg so you were effectively restarting? Thank you. I'm trying to look for any tips on what to do next.

ForLoveNotMoney · 23/07/2025 20:10

I have just restarted.

Took 1.25mg Wednesday and that did nothing so took another 1.25mg Saturday. Started to get some suppression today so I'm happy. I think I’ll try 45 clicks of the 2.5mg pen weekly for this month and try and drop to 1.25mg weekly there after.

Sadteacher · 23/07/2025 20:58

@Forevafatty it was a7.5 pen. I took 3.5, then 4 ( so split the first dose to ease me in again) and then the remaining 7.5 doses.
