Would people who've hit their target weight be interested in a general thread on how they are getting on? You might be titrating your WLI down, you might be going cold turkey, you might be on a maintenance programme or you might have gone back on.

I used MJ for 5 months and I've hit my goal and I'm muddling through with my own version of "maintenance". I'm doing a 1.25 dose weekly to use up what I've got left and cut down gradually, so I don't lose all the benefits of MJ immediately. I was a complete lightweight and did the whole 5 months on just 2.5, as I had savage suppression and loss of appetite. So, I'm just halving my dosage.

I'd be interested to hear how others are getting on, given it all feels a bit new and the long-term aspects of weight maintenance are not yet much talked about.

Thanks @MargoLivebetter I am younger, but not as young as I wish I was 🤣. I lost slowly, 1lb a week average. But it doesn't seem to have made any difference ultimately. I am trying to think back to previous weight losses and I do seem to remember, as with stretch marks, things improve after a year or so. So I'm okay to give it some time and see what happens. It was never this bad when I was younger. I could kick myself for not keeping it off 10 years ago (although I was 11st then, not under 10st!).

Another week in to maintenance and the scales shifted down to a new number for the first time (I daily weigh and my weights in the last 3 weeks have all been in my usual 2lb range 9st11-9st13 until today). I've done between 1600-1700 this week although I said I'd stay at 1600, a few different things have caused me to revise it (I want to increase protein further). But I'm happy at this, so I'll stick to it for a few weeks and see what happens. But given the scale budged down, I'm sure I've got wiggle room still.
It's a definite interesting period trying to figure it all out and find a new way of life! I look back at my 1200 call days (and I did that for well over a year!) and have no idea how I survived! It's mad isn't it!
I'm excited to see what the gym scales show later this week. I want that muscle growth!

Welcome @BemusedBrenda . When you get that painful sensation might it be worth trying a gaviscon or rennie? Sometimes a bit of heartburn feels similar.

Well done @SnacklessWonder good on you! I read somewhere that there is evidence that MJ users do manage to keep the weight off after their loss, which really cheered me. I've just found it: https://www.theguardian.com/society/2025/apr/11/people-using-drug-mounjaro-sustain-weight-loss-over-three-years-trial-finds

I'm moving house this week, so feel like a mental person. I won't be posting much after today. On the plus side I have lost the other pound that I put on, so I'm now back to the weight I was when I reached my goal. I'm actually really pleased that despite the immense stress, I have managed not to comfort eat but have kept with my new ways. I have sometimes cracked and had a few small nice things, which I have eaten for comfort rather than anything to do with hunger, but I've kept it to the odd toffee or a few chunks of dark chocolate, rather than several pieces of buttery toast with jam or a cake.

I'm also still managing to do my own very lite version of intermittent fasting. I try to eat dinner by 7pm and not have breakfast before 10am, so I give myself 15 hours between eating. I can't do much more than that without getting lightheaded but I'm sure that is helping.

Today makes it 2 months exactly since I took my last Jab. I’m maintaining well off the jab and I’m weight over 5lbs less than my last weigh on the jab and my BMI is currently 23.9 .
Also, for the first time, none of my stats is ‘red’ on my Renpho scale app.
I’m glad I stopped when I did because 2 months in, I can say I have a routine now. Enjoying exercising, I feel hunger but nothing extreme and I just eat and snack right. As I’m still losing weight, it makes me happy as I’m not starving and I could still eat more if I was hungry and still be within my calorie allowance if it makes sense.
I’ve rewarded myself with lots of new clothes as well, all these make me know that I just can’t afford to slack.

ShaunaSadeki · 15/04/2025 10:55

Can I join? I’ve been following you all for a while and love to see that it is possible to stop MJ. I am sort of at goal weight now, although always happy to lose a bit more. I have a funny shape and in danger of getting a bit bony on my top half but still have chubby thighs, so trying to do body recomposition to even things out, but without obsessing over macros as that has caused me issues and to over eat in the past.

Ive been titrating down from 5mg for a few weeks, took 2.5 yesterday and have about 2.5 left in the pen to take next week, then it’s cold turkey and hope for the best. Im a classic yo-yo dieter so feeling a bit worried. But I have a much better exercise routine in place, time to exercise and have finally, properly quit smoking, have spent years stopping, gaining weight and starting again.

MargoLivebetter · 15/04/2025 10:58

Fantastic news @Tohaveandtohold Enjoy all the new clothes. It is such a great feeling.

Welcome @ShaunaSadeki . Sounds like you have a plan. Keep us posted.

@ThisMustBeMyDream unfortunately it’s too late to get any alterations done on the dress as the wedding is only a few days away now. I’m going to try it on again this week to be absolutely sure of the fit - I can try to make slight alterations myself if it’s noticeably gappy. I do wish I’d have bought a size 10 rather than a 12 though. I’ve put 3 pounds on over the last couple of days though so hopefully I can get that off.

I have the same issue with the loose skin. Hopefully it will improve as our bodies get used to it, but my stomach is horrendous and looks like it’s melting. My boobs are so small and saggy now which I’m sad about but the most noticeable is the bingo wings.

good luck with your wedding dress fitting in a few weeks. I’m sure it will look amazing :)

MargoLivebetter · 15/04/2025 12:09

@PissedOffNeighbour22 I'm sure you will look fantastic. Enjoy the wedding! Have a lovely day.

Hope you have a fab day @PissedOffNeighbour22 and feel amazing.

NewYear0Me · 15/04/2025 19:23

Hope the house moving goes well @MargoLivebetter thats very stressful so well done for keeping on track.

Kilimounjaro · 15/04/2025 21:29

Good luck with the move @MargoLivebetter

I’m trying to go back up to 10mg again and drop back down more slowly. My weight is moving up and down by a few pounds around the top end of my healthy BMI, and my target is to be about middle of the range. My plan was to slowly ramp down while I lost the last bit.

Pharmacy2U has really upped the checks the last couple of times. I now need to go and get my height and weight checked and documented by a pharmacy or GP. First pharmacy I tried didn’t have the scales/measures to do it so will have to try and get it done at my GP or other pharmacy tomorrow. I’m not sure if the GP would accommodate such a request without an appointment, and those are hard to come by even for illness.

Hi I need help with maintenance

PissedOffNeighbour22 · 19/04/2025 08:46

Thank you @MargoLivebetter and @NewYear0Me.

good luck with the house move @MargoLivebetter you’ll probably lose some stress pounds 😄

Cantbesure · 19/04/2025 10:18

I hit my goal this week. But think I might try and lose another half stone. I’m currently at a BMI of 24.3 so plenty to go at yet. I’ve got a maintenance call with Oushk in just over a week. Currently on 7.5mg and not sure whether to move up to get the last half a stone off before potentially titrating down.

NewYear0Me · 19/04/2025 20:25

I’m still maintaining at exactly same weight as I was two months ago. I’m still on2.5mg and not calorie counting but I’m sticking to generally same weekly menu options focusing on less carbs, more protein and fasting 14-16hrs daily plus I run 3-4x a week. I’m still toning up losing inches but not lbs. Quite happy but worried I won’t get off the 2.5mg easily

SilenceInside · 19/04/2025 20:59

@murraymcgill what kind of help did you want regarding maintenance?

Sleepyquest · 19/04/2025 21:05

It's been 18 days since my last jab, finding myself hungry more and thinking about food a lot!
I am maintaining so far but it's early days! I am definitely being more slack. I'd still like to lose another 5 lbs or so

I'm having a weird side effect of coming off - vaginal dryness. Did anyone else find this?

You'd be producing less estrogen now so could imagine dryness aka urogenitary atrophy becoming an issue.
You may be best starting a post for advice on that in the Menopause forum though.

Cantbesure · 20/04/2025 10:03

@Sleepyquestvan I ask what made you stop the injections if you hadn’t reached your ideal weight?
Are you on HRT? I have estriol cream for vaginal dryness. You can use alongside, or without, HRT.

Sleepyquest · 20/04/2025 11:29

Guys I'm early thirties! It shouldn't be menopause related!

I stopped because towards the end I was having diarrhoea nearly every week and it was really affecting my life. I thought being so close to goal I should just come off

blessingindisguise22 · 20/04/2025 20:17

Okay. Regardless of whether it's perimenopause or not, I still think the drop in estrogen could be a factor.

A reported side effect by the manufacturer is dry eyes so if Mj can dry out eyes, it can also cause vaginal dryness. Both have mucous membranes.

Sleepyquest · 20/04/2025 20:21

That's interesting @blessingindisguise22 because my eyes have been super dry too!

Thank you 😊 hopefully it will resolve itself?

I hope it does for you! May take some time though.

JudgingJudy · 20/04/2025 21:13

Can I ask @MargoLivebetter how long are you happy to keep using the same pen,? Are you using a fridge?

murraymcgill · 21/04/2025 20:02

Hi all I haven't a clue what's going on I've booked a maintenance consultation its in July but what do I do till then?

IReallyNeedThisToWork · 21/04/2025 20:20

@murraymcgill is that with Oushk? I would assume just order s usual until then but if you’re completely unsure, phone/email them and ask
