Has anyone had pen out of the fridge and used it more than for 5 weeks ?

Should have explained better I meant over the 30 days out of a fridge eg a few days over ? I don’t intend to do this but just curious how strict people are with the 30 days ?

I haven't needed to, and I wouldn't use the pen past the 30 days.

You would only "need" to if you were using a higher dose pen to inject smaller doses by counting clicks, eg doing 2.5mg from a 5mg pen. Also, I keep the pens in the fridge all the time - the 30 days is about how long you keep a pen for after first use whether it's in the fridge or not after that first use.

Some do some do not. All depends on how brave/reckless, or somewhere inbetween, you are.

If you are not planning to do what is your intention for this thread? Or are you really considering it, but worried about backlash from the purists?

I have and having researched it am more than happy to do so. Nothing bad has happened.
I think you need to do your own research on this. But the stability of the drug is being researched and extended. Pretty sure the advice will change in the future. Also there is no evidence that the drug goes off after 30 days, that was not tested for. The evidence was that the drug is still good after 30 days and that is a very different thing. They didn't bother testing for longer than that.

@Luminousalumnus can you share the research you are quoting as a starting point for others? You have mentioned it before in other threads and when asked to share do not return to the thread.

I found nothing beyond social media posts.

I will be doing for the first time with this pen (7.5mg) as I'm only extracting 6mg from it. So I'll get 6 x jabs out of this pen instead of 5. I have no concerns about it. I feel like it's scaremongering. I have used other meds past their expiry dates without issue (admittedly not an injection) xx

I’ve been doing it the last couple of pens, keep it in the fridge, good hygiene with everything. I am counting clicks and taking a smaller dose from a pen though.
Ig works for me but I wouldn’t say ‘hey, go for it’ - this is just what I am doing.
If you have a pen ratting around a makeup drawer in a warm bedroom for a few months with poor hygiene that might be a different matter.

I did six on my second pen as it was 5mg and I did 3.75 the whole time. Still threw away at least one dose and was gutted about it
It was out of the fridge once I'd used it and didn't notice a drop in effectivess.
I was musing to DH last night that we'd probably find out in years to come that we'd have been fine to eke out a 15mg pen for weeks

I used 6 doses from my 7.5mg pen but one was 2 days early so it was 34 days and all fine. It was kept in the fridge the whole time though

Was literally just looking on here for a post like this before asking the same question myself!

I have a 15mg pen which they sent me accidentally as I had asked to stay on 12.5 as feel it's enough. So plan to take smaller doses from the 15mg dose, which means it will probably last me 6-7 weeks.

Will keep it in the fridge. Haven't found anything when I've researched to say not to do this.

So will give it a go. The worst that seems to be reported is that it just isn't as effective sometimes.
