Getting so bored now. Take a look at these pics - am I slim enough to start tapering off MJ?

Of course I know it's not down to Mumsnet what I do but I can't decide whether I am now at target! It's always been a somewhat moving target and I never look super slim anyway because I'm quite short!

Started at a lb under 15 stone. So 15 stone then! I'm now about 9 stone 9 to 9 stone 11 depending on the day!

BMI was 36 and is now 23.7

I just don't know whether to stop now and start maintenance or push for another half a stone

I've not lost huge amounts in recent months - down to about 4 lbs a month loss now, if that

Anyway - thoughts please? I've gone from a size 16 to a 10 and feel pretty good but need to decide what to do

@FerretChops that actually made me cry (in a good way). I don’t mind putting the hard work in, I just need something that works. When I have said to anyone (including my Dr) that I don’t lose on 1400 a day they have said I must be cheating and kidding myself. I know I’m not. If anything it’s less that that as I will round up to be sure.

FerretChops · 12/01/2025 21:24

@unsync yes I can relate to that. The brain takes a while to catch up doesn't it?

Great tip about the cottage cheese, I'll get some tomorrow. I can have it on rice cakes!

FerretChops · 12/01/2025 20:45

@LionRumpus I think I'd expire with the effort of having to go to 8 and a half stone and I genuinely fear for more muscle loss!

I could get in board with 9 stone though and often wonder if about 9 stone 5 is where I should aim for over time

It's always better to concentrate on strength and stamina, I reckon. Much better to be strong and fit than worry about half a stone or a stone here or there.

FerretChops · 12/01/2025 21:30

@Notmyregularusrname I hear you. Honestly, barely a lb on 1400 cals. Or I'd lose a few, stall, gain them back. 1400 was genuinely maintenance calories for me - all linked into being menopausal, short and not exactly super active

Enter mounjaro and now I'm losing on a minimum of 1400 and I know this because A I log everything I eat into an app (more to see where I am protein wise) and B I've lost over 5 stone doing it

You look great OP. Am surprised that a 5st weight loss has only resulted in dropping three dress sizes though. Five stone is a lot to lose!

Morecoffeeforme · 12/01/2025 21:35

Wow well done OP you look fantastic!

ive lost 2 stone since September on MJ and need to lose another 1.5. Bloody fantastic stuff isn’t it.

Ive told no one though as I know there’d be a lot of judgement and I just can’t face it

FerretChops · 12/01/2025 21:36

@MabelMora yeah I'd have liked more dress sizes! All my wardrobe pre weight loss was size 14 or 16 or - more usual - size L. And now I'd say I was a solid size 10 in structured clothes, not just ones with stretch

OP posts:
FerretChops · 12/01/2025 21:39

@Morecoffeeforme oh well done! The end is on the horizon!

I haven't told many people either as can't be doing with it tbh so I've only admitted it when asked outright and I've had that a few times recently

OP posts:
MabelMora · 12/01/2025 21:42

You look great. I'm really tempted to go for it.

FerretChops · 12/01/2025 21:48

@MabelMora honestly, do it (if you're considering it that is!)

Most people have very little in the way of side effects (or course people do have them! But its not a given at all) and it just makes weight loss so so much easier

JustWalkingTheDogs · 12/01/2025 21:51

I'd focus on being healthy now. Your bmi is in the heathy range and I think you look great. Now is the time to start to keep up the good eating habits and maybe thing about exercise and/or strength training. Think about future you and being fit and healthy

Justwanttocomment · 12/01/2025 21:57

Can I ask how noticeable is it where you inject? Just in case I decide not to tell my other half?!

Puffalicious · 12/01/2025 21:57

FerretChops · 12/01/2025 21:16

@Puffalicious started on 2.5 as everyone has to and lost 4 stone on that dose

I went with med express as I think there was an initial £40 off for a first order. I've stayed with them as I've never had an issue, they've always approved my new orders within a matter of hours and I can't be bothered with chasing discounts every month so they get my vote because I've had a hassle free experience with them

Thank you. That's really helpful. I'm definitely going to look into it all. You're making me less nervous.

You know, you've made me realise I DON'T need to tell anyone. I was worrying about that, I'll admit it, as I'm surrounded by naturally slim friends who can eat what they want.

DP is right behind me as he can see how I don't over-eat, yet pile on the weight.

I'm looking into this on my day off on Tuesday. I'm doing it.

icklehels · 12/01/2025 22:03

Sorry a little off topic, but how long does mediexpress take to process and deliver offers of mj? I’d like to start beginning of next month so was wondering if i should put through an order now or wait a few weeks?

FerretChops · 12/01/2025 22:03

@Justwanttocomment not a single mark! And I'm someone who bruises easily.

OP posts:
FerretChops · 12/01/2025 22:06

@icklehels you can expect a good week for a first order as they do their checks on your photos and ID etc

From there on in, I re order and it's approved and dispatched within minutes - genuinely! Most it's taken after my initial order is a day to be processed and dispatched

FerretChops · 12/01/2025 22:09

@Puffalicious it's nothing to do with anyone else! You'll still be able to eat and drink and socialise if you do that anyway. You'll just eat less.

I told my husband and my daughter (she's an adult btw! I wasn't offloading to a ten year old Grin) I didn't tell my son who's 18 as he's oblivious to most things and never spotted it in the fridge. He also didn't really notice I'd lost weight for months as I'm just 'mum' obviously

However he did ask me out the blue only last week if I'd used a weight loss drug so I just said 'yes I did and it's helped me quite a bit.' We then went on to discussing the more important matters of his football team so that was that Grin

Am still gobsmacked at your stats. You must've carried your weight really well because I'm at least 2" taller than you and weigh about a stone less than you did at the start but I look bigger than you in the red top photo.

I was scrolling back looking for your height and this typo caught my eye 🤣...

My husband is a professional golfer so you can just imagine how fit he is! I just shit down any judgement from him and he soon learned not to bother.

FerretChops · 12/01/2025 23:26

@MabelMora oh that's no typo. Grin err yes, can't believe I didn't spot that one. I certainly don't shit on him. Well not often anyway!

OK I've got one last question: have you found losing the weight has made your face look older? You know the saying about choosing your face or your figure.

FerretChops · 12/01/2025 23:45

@MabelMora it's not aged my face at all thankfully. I don't look drawn or anything - just have a slimmer face. So zero effect there

However it's led to loose skin on my upper thighs and bottom. My bottom is just so flat - I'll try and find a pic

I remember your pictures from a few threads

you wanted to stop using it by end of autumn I think

is it that you want to lose more or are nervous to stop?

I had rejected the idea after a bad reaction to Saxenda but occasionally till think about trying this. I wish I they could make a pill so I could stop right away if I got bad problems ob it

Squats! (Says a woman who hasn't done a squat for about thirty years).
Thanks for your honest answers OP.

I ordered from them for the first time on Friday, early evening, and had the order approved on Saturday lunchtime ( I wasn't expecting to hear from them until Monday). I had an email on Sunday to say it's been dispatched and to expect it by Thursday, but Royal Mail has emailed to say it will be here by Tuesday. That's weather permitting. Due to snow and ice, we've had no post for over a week.
