what do I do with leftover medication?

hi, I've recently started on MJ and have just taken my 4th dose. There's still a bit of medication left in the pen. I know people talk about getting a 5th dose out of a pen, but I don't want to do that. so I'm not sure whether I should throw the pen in the bin with the med still in it, or try to get it out but presumably I shouldn't be putting it down the sink as it's medication. What do other people do?

They expect there to be excess liquid left after the 4th dose. Instruction leaflet says put in household bin.

thanks. I know the leaflet says to put into the bin but I wasn't sure if it was ok to do this if medication was still inside it. And then I got into worrying about whether it was better to put the meds in landfill or in the waste water. maybe I'm overthinking this!

Some people don't bin it but use it as a 5th dose; it's up to you if you want to use it or bin it.

My MJ is being prescribed by my GP so I will get a pen every 4 weeks. Therefore I don't need a 5th dose, if I used it then I'd have to delay my prescription and it gets messy.

You can put it in the sharps bin if you're concerned about it being in the household waste.

Fair enough. Just bin it or dismantle it and put it the sharps bin.

I put my used pen in the same yellow sharps bin I put the used needles in. When full you can hand it in as hazardous waste and it gets incinerated.
