Hi all. I'm a mum of 3 , I'm 13st8 and I'm 5ft 3 so it really shows. Some of my family are on this injection and they look amazing! I'm so scared to start it tho! I have severe Emetophobia and absolutely terrified of being sick. I literally can't do it 😩😩. I'm gonna be on the starting dose 2.5mg. Just a terrified mum lol I also have bad anxiety😩

@booJo24902 If you haven't already, I'd suggest joining one of the January threads in this section, it's always helpful to have people who are at a similar stage to you to chat to. Also, if you have questions for people who have been on it for a while, you could try posting on the main "Continuing Mounjaro...Part 23" thread to ask a wider audience there.

Nausea and vomiting is a potential side effect, there is no escaping that, it does not appear from posts I have read to be as common as diarrhea, constipation, wind etc, but it does happen to a few people. I personally have never felt any nausea.

You can ask your local pharmacy, or your provider to also prescribe anti-sickness meds for you so you have them on standby if needed.

I’ve never been sick with it. Good luck 💐

I am on Mounjaro aince August and didn't vomit (yet)

I think the key to not being sick is to be careful what you eat. I have never been sick, I eat a really healthy and rather plain diet now. It's working.

GingerGirl4549 · 08/01/2025 19:21

I've had mild nausea, never been sick or even close in 5 months. But everyone is different with the side effects, but I think vomiting isn't a common one

I’ve not heard of many people being actually sick, feeling a bit nauseous but not actually vomiting. Im sure you’ll be fine.

OhBugger125 · 08/01/2025 19:28

I started last week at 13st 9lb and 5ft 2.
Had second jab yesterday of the 2.5 pen.

So far it's been fine. No sickness at all. Jab pretty much pain free.

Have only lost 1lb so far....but its far too early to expect results yet I think.

The reality is Op that you may be sick.

I've never been sick in my life, not even as a baby my mum says, I also have a fear of it. Spoke to GP once and they said a small proportion of people can't vomit as don't have the reflex. I've never had nausea, vomiting, burps or constipation on mounjaro and I'm currently on 7.5mg. What I would recommend is eat little and often and stop eating as soon as you start feeling full. If it means splitting a meal in 2 sittings, then so be it. I do believe this is why I've never had any side effects
