Bonus dose

Hi all. I am just about to take my 4th injection of 2.5mls and planning to take the bonus dose next weekend. Is it right I need to take 0.6mls?

I cannot get my head round how this looks in comparison to:

a) a calpol syringe (which is 5ml), and;
b) the syringes I was recommended to buy to administer the Mounjaro.

It appears a tiny amount! The pen is quite chunky, how is it such a small dose?

Thanks in advance!

It's a very potent medicine, much more than Calpol. The ml is the quantity of each dose.

0.6ml of it is the full dose of your 2.5mg (not ml).
0.6ml is also a full dose of other strengths - 5mg, 7.5mg, etc.

0.6 mls is a full dose regardless the strength of the dose so yes. It is a small amount.

It is a tiny amount. It's like when they take 5ml of blood, it's a teaspoon but it fills a test tube. The glass is thick to protect the contents

I use SHD medical as cost 5.49 incl delivery for 10 x 30G 1ml syringe with needles

I don't understand why you are trying to compare it to a 5ml Calpol syringe. 0.6 mls is obviously going to look a lot less than 5ml.

Yes I am aware of that. I was trying to understand how the dose in a syringe is going to look so much smaller than the pen, and if I was to use a calpol syringe (which obviously i won't!!) it would literally just be the tip of the syringe, it just didn't feel enough to me, however I didn't consider the thickness of the glass if the pen etc.

Thank you. I hadn't considered the thickness of the glass.

Thanks Tinkerbell. I understand how the dose etc works, and understand it's more potent than calpol, I just means visually, every dose from the pen looks more than 0.6mls, as, if this were to be from a calpol syringe, it would literally just be the tip of the it. However, someone mentioned the glass of the pen is very thick so I guess that would make it look like there's more liquid in the pen than there really is.
