I've been taking Mounjaro since June and recently swapped to Curate fot my 7.5 and subsequent 10mg. Just before Xmas I was alerted by Credit Karma that a soft search had been performed on my credit rating. It turned out to be The Curate Group.

I've checked that it couldn't be a mistake and perhaps performed by another company by a similar name but is definitely the pharmacy. I've raised a query and it has now been removed from my credit record.

Has anyone else had this ? Why would they need to check credit worthiness when we pay up front ? I'm actually really angry about it.

That's worrying! Why would they need to do that in a first place? Did you get any explanation?

If they had no reason to perform a credit check you can ask for an explanation. State clearly you did not authorise a credit check and ask for details of their legal basis for requesting it and how your personal information is being used.

Their reason for doing it might be a soft check for an identify check for prescription only medication. These would not affect your credit score.

You can report them if they had no legal reason for requesting.

It seems odd, this was done at my 2nd order, ie with the 10mg, they didn't do it for the 7.5. I've had no explanation but Crefit Karma have said it will be removed. If they needed extra ID I could have supplied it but I was already a customer !

It is almost certainly part of the ID check. I would not worry about it a soft search doesn't impact your credit file.

It's odd they did it after I had already ordered previously, I was already a customer on record.

I've previously used Med Express, Zava and Simple Online Pharmacy and none of them have done this. I know it won't affect my credit record but nonetheless I don't believe it was necessary when they already had me verified as a customer over 2 months ago.

Perhaps they didn't do their due diligence on customers and as things are tightening up woth regulation, ID soft search is part of their new process on both existing and new customers.

Curate have been subject to an improvement plan after their last inspection by the GPhC, so maybe it's part of that process.

Just to echo what others have said. I wouldn't worry as only you can see a soft check and it has no impact on your credit score. It does sound like they carried this out to confirm your identity.
I moved over to Curate in Oct. I have just checked my credit report and they didn't do a search on me but this might have been before they tightened up on checks.
What I do find annoying is the need for monthly photos so I have moved over to someone else who is roughly the same price if not a tad cheaper and currently does not request new photos each month!!
