Hi all, well done DIL thats a great achievement, you must feel fantastic.

Im still on 10mg and my next script is 10mg, but I am struggling to eat and feel nauseous a lot. Ive worked out that I need to have something in the morning, even if its yogurt or a banana, and definitely drink plenty of water, 2L at least a day, which I manage fine most days.

Check in yesterday and Im down 1.1kg which if great after not a love of movement lately.

Ive started walking more and I have my little work out with my bands to try to tone the wobbly body a little.

I’ve worked out the same too. I need to eat 3 times a day. Piece of toast in the morning, an oat bar or such like for lunch and then a proper healthy dinner. I’m drinking 2-3lt of water every day and have beaten the nausea.

My next mini target is to get into the 12st bracket. Only 2lbs to get there. I’m amazed at how far I’ve come.

Started at 17st 5lbs
Used SlimPod and lost 1 st
Orlistat for 1 year lost 1 st but put a bit back on
Started Mounjaro at 15st 10lbs
Current weight is 13st 1lbs

Current loss is 4st 4lbs

Just 2st 3lbs to target

Hi all.

Feeling a bit dejected this week as have stayed the same for three weeks.

I've not done anything drastically different, but I have noticed that on 2.5 and 7.5 has been when I've seen my lowest losses, and I'm in my second pen of 7.5.

I'm still 90kg/33.5BMI so it's not because I'm approaching a normal weight!

I really need to add in some exercise, but....honestly I just don't want to. Yes I probably have time for ten minutes a day, but I'd rather stay in bed a bit longer, read a book, do anything. I also don't want to get sweaty and have to factor in another shower daily. It's just annoying.

Never mind. At least I'm not falling off the wagon which has every single time I've tried to lose weight been my downfall. I'm not hungrier or anything, my food intake hasn't changed, so really not sure why I've hit a plateau. Probably just my body.

Protein - check if you're having enough
Carbs - try to reduce them
Water- drink plenty
Sleep - try to get as much as you can

With those four things ticked off, you are likely to get going again. Best of luck!

GoldLeader · 16/06/2025 18:33

Woop woop congrats @BestDIL. Huge milestone!

My check-in was Friday and it was 0 movement but given the 7lbs loss over the 2 weeks before I don’t mind at all.

Since check-in I’ve been away all weekend and have noticed I’m a little bit down after getting home which is nice, but I’m about to go away again- this time for work, until right before check-in. And I just know I’m going to drink so much wine. 😂. Plus there’s about 3 fancy meals planned, and hotel breakfasts, not sure if the loss I’ve had so far this week is going to still be there come Friday. 😬.

Honestly at this point I feel like I’ve lost loads and to just enjoy the week as a 1 off and deal with it after, especially as the weather is nice, but I also know I’ll probs regret that on Friday when I’m up 3 lbs or something!

BestDIL · 20/06/2025 13:47

Check In yesterday and, well, I didn't quite make it into the 12st bracket. No idea what weight I thought I was last week!

I'm off to Holland on holiday on Sunday for a couple of weeks. We have a caravan, so plenty of room for my scales and a fridge for my meds. Think I should be ok as we will cycle almost every day, the car gets a holiday too!

I'll update you when I'm back!

kittykarate · 20/06/2025 14:02

Jab 24 done this week, half way or near as dammit. 300g off this week, but at least I've stayed under the 75kg ! Will I hit my self-set goal of 65kg by the end of the year? Not a clue. But still going downwards, and my spirits are going upwards!

I was chatting to a 'cousin' (my mam's cousin's daughter) last week, she has just been called in by her GP to discuss whether she would be suitable for MJ on the NHS. Fingers crossed that she is!

GoldLeader · 20/06/2025 17:03

Check in day and same again for me, honestly I’m pretty happy I didn’t go up this week, I’ve had a bit of a splurge on wine and buffets this week while away for work. Plus a takeaway last night as I was just too tired to cook after a long train journey home . Keeping flat is all good after all that!

I’m also away for a week from tomorrow but should have a lot less alcohol than this week so fingers crossed next week is positive, but honestly no dramas if not because i don’t want to stress when enjoying time off!

also did other people notice SheMed had added a graph?! Finally! It’s definitely better than just the list of logs.

GoldLeader · 20/06/2025 17:06

Oh yeah, and forgot to say- sat at a dinner on Tuesday and both the people on my left and right were on Mounjaro, colleagues from different parts of the country and it was fascinating that they were also doing. They both mentioned a whole bunch of other people who were on it. It’s kind of fascinating how widespread it’s becoming.

BestDIL · 20/06/2025 19:11

@GoldLeader. Yes, lots of people on it, everyone knows someone who’s on it. The drug companies must be rubbing their hands! Looks like you did well, so hard being away and trying to be careful. I keep looking at the kids menus if we go out but they’re all full and fish fingers and chips etc!

Forgot to say that I lost 1.6lbs this week

@kittykarate will be interesting to see what happens with your cousin. My sister in law gets Wegovy on the NHS. Pissed me right off when I found out, don’t mind saying. Got through an app called Oviva. I passed that onto my Sister who can’t get it as her BMI is too low, needs to be 37.5!

10mg is really kicking my arse. The day of and the day after, I feel like shit, can hardly eat but I’m obviously hungry. I get hangry and my husband has just taken the full force of it! Good start to our holiday 😂. Thankfully son and his partner coming too, so I’ll still have someone to talk to.

travelforthesoul · 20/06/2025 19:23

Im down 12kg exactly in total now. Really noticing it in clothes.

FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden · 20/06/2025 22:09

I am so low and grumpy and anxious this evening. I jabbed this morning but it's probably a whole. Mix of things. I'm not sleeping well on MJ. I easily stir and need the loo. I take magnesium but part of it is knowing I have to be up early to catch up with work before the day starts... And some of it is work/money stress. Im very low paid and it looks like autumn onwards I will earn even less. I have made such a mess of my life I can't easily sort it. And I'm tired and weary.

I don't know if I'm feeling everything more because it's jab day or the crazy extra work I was doing has led to a burnout. Who knows. But torrow I don't have to be up early so hopefully to tonight I'll sleep!!

BestDIL · 20/06/2025 23:23

@FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden. Oh bless you, it sounds like you are going through a rough patch. Money worries, I think, are the worst kind of worry. I’ve been there and it wasn’t pretty! Is there anyone who can provide emotional support, that might help a bit? Send virtual hugs

@travelforthesoul. 12kg is a brilliant achievement. Well done you!

FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden · 21/06/2025 05:30

@BestDIL Thankyou for lovely reply.

I'm really sorry evryone I realise I posted on the wrong thread 😳. I am using Shemed and in my grumpy evening-ness saw that and thought it was one of the threads I was on - I didnt mean to come and grump on a thread I'm not normally on!!!

Hope you're all doing fab with Shemed. I'm not so anxious this morning - and am not usually but things got to me last night (hence not checking which thread I'm on!!). I'm on the years study with Shemed and I'm so grateful to be on it!!

Reginaphalangeeeee · 26/06/2025 18:12

@FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden
Don't apologise. It is nice to see you here too. Moan away xxx

I too an feeling anxious. For once, not my weight/size/eating though am at a loss to settle myself without food. I realise how much I have badly used it in the past to calm anxiety.

Mine it overwhelming feeling too much to do, not enough time sort of stress. Putting pressure on myself to finish a project, deadline looming, planning a big celebration event (I am worrying too much about this) and husband finances.

Car is broken, his work contacts down and I have stupidly booked a trip to Eurodisney that has cost way way too much. I’m feeling foolishish for it but also wanting great experiences with kids.

Ahhhh life is hard hey.
Sorry your money issues looming over you too.

I tend to feel low on day post jab and then anxiety seems worse after a few lower, less productive days.

Sending a virtual hug. Xx

FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden · 26/06/2025 18:38

Thankyou - hugs back with all you are dealing with. I haven't been so bad this week but yes I do wonder if there's a link to jab day... (But also have the best time at EuroDisney!!!)

GoldLeader · 02/07/2025 21:52

A random update- I had an email from SheMed asking me if I was happy to move up doses, which I missed as it went to a spam folder so I’m a little late responding. I’m actually pretty ambivalent about increasing, officially I’ve been pretty flat this month, but I’ve had so much going on my ‘routine’ is non existent. I don’t really mind not having big losses this month, but I think as I’ve been on 7.5 already twice they want me to go up to 10.

Also my official weight this week is a 1 lb gain, except it’s not really as I had to do my check-in at midnight after a long day of travelling, (so had a whole days worth of food/drinks in me!) I think if I’d weighed at the same time as normal on that day I’d be down by 3/4 pounds instead (but couldn’t as I didn’t take the pen or scales with me on holiday!) I was pretty active on my holiday and in the days since when weighing myself I’m now half a stone lower since my last official but at midnight weigh in. It’s going to look ridiculous at the next weigh in day. Like a ridiculous yo-yo. (But really just different times of day)

BestDIL · 03/07/2025 07:55

@GoldLeader I moved up to 10 mg and although initially I found it hard it has settled down. Side effects were pretty severe. Just about to take 4th dose and check in.

I’m away on holiday at the moment which is why I’ve been quiet for the last couple of weeks. Cycling in Holland. Check in last week was up 0.4 lbs which I’m fine with.

I’ll update later this morning with update but think I’ve lost this week despite eating what I want albeit much smaller portions!

BestDIL · 03/07/2025 08:18

Whoop whoop. Just checked in and lost 2.8lbs this week. All while being on holiday. That has got me down to 12st 12lbs. Bloody years since I was that weight.

kittykarate · 03/07/2025 10:04

Well done all!

I'm finding myself more restless at night, with long stretches laid there listening to podcasts. Some of it is the heat, but I do know there is a portion related to the jab. I can't take magnesium supplements as the poo literally flies out of me when I'm using them.

In amongst the podcasts there were american adverts for 'Noom' the healthy eating/intuitive eating app which was advertising them doing Noom + Compounded GLP-1. The american drugs market is wild, basically compounded means it's mixed up by a pharmacy. It's a bit of a loophole in american pharmacutical regulation, it's allowed for you to be able to get your 'active' ingredient but maybe with different fillers if you have a medical reason (e.g. an allergy to the branded pill coating). I mean, in general it should be ok if supplied by a large company, but you could get anything otherwise.

Blood test done, compared to the first one it's a much more hurried affair - basically <scans a few barcodes> "Are you happy to do it yourself following the instructions" "Yes" "Have a nice day!" It was better than the long embarassed wait while my blood didn't start flowing on my original test.

GoldLeader · 03/07/2025 11:19

@kittykarate i watched a random program on American compounding pharmacies for glp-1 products and it was both fascinating and horrifying. Apparently when drugs are classified as in a shortage in the USA the pharmacies are allowed to supply them as a basic ‘active’ ingredient. And they declared a shortage in America because so many people were buying ozempic for weight loss the diabetics who actually needed it were in need.

except now it’s just become the Wild West in pharmacies cashing in for people wanting cheap weight loss drugs. The news channel that did the program ordered from a bunch of different ‘pharmacies’ and a bunch weren’t licensed at all, didn’t do any checks, and the ‘products’ were all over the place. They tested the products and some too strong (ordering 2.5mg getting 10mg) some too weak, some not containing any GLP-1 at all.

then you just get a bottle and a needle so you need to mix the stuff yourself and inject, not the pens. So people were all over the place with doses.

the pharmacies/ clinics getting supplies from them were like our uk vape shops -just setting up in malls / high streets etc.

then you had the brand suppliers saying ‘this is not ok it’s not safe’ vs the pharmacy people going ‘sure it’s safe & we’re supplying a need- you just want to make money’

the whole thing was a mess- but individual pens are over a £1000 over there and the ‘cheap’ compounding version is like £200-£300. Honestly it was horrifying and facinating all at the same time. Just made me so glad not to live there.

GoldLeader · 03/07/2025 11:25

@BestDIL woop woop you’re in the 12 st bracket! I’m currently sitting at 13.1 from my morning scales but I’ll probs be 13.3 for the weigh in (I add 2lbs ish for clothes and holding phone etc) we’ll see, if it’s a bit more or less I don’t mind.

im hoping to reach the 12st bracket next week or the week after. Then aim for the 30 bmi magic number- I need to be 12.10 to get to it

You must be a little shorter than me. I’m 5’6”. I used to be 5’7” but appear to have lost an inch in my 50’s.

i’m 60 on Monday and whilst my mantra was fat at 50 slim at 60. I’m not yet in the slim category but a damn site closer than I have been for many years!

You are so close to getting a double whammy! Nearly there now.

I always put my phone down when stepping on the scales and only have PJ top and knickers on! Too many interruptions to weigh naked but if I could, I would! 😂😂😂

I’m finding that I need to get up more frequently for a wee but putting that down to the increased water intake.

I don’t listen to podcasts so haven’t heard about the American market. £1000 for a pen is absolutely nuts. How can so many afford it? I guess not many hence the cowboy outfits. I too am glad I don’t live in the US but more for the fact they have an orange manbaby as their leader! 😂😂

OMG I am feeling so good, loads of clothes are hanging off me, 2 sizes smaller than I started and I need to go through ALL my clothes and sort them out. Tomorrow is weigh in day, but I am definitely having non scale victory for sure.

Hey that’s great news. I did that before my holiday. Been buying stuff from Vinted so interim clothes not cost much. When I get back I’ll be selling on Vinted and buying smaller. The NSV’s really make the difference don’t they! 👏
