Hi all, week 7 here. I am feeling a little dispondent at the moment. Currently 10lbs down having gained a couple back over Christmas.

I was so good this christmas so gaining left me a little annoyed. I suspect its because i incorporated exercise back into my routine after lacking motivation at the start of my journey.

Anyway need to keep going, managed to get 6ml bonus does out of my 5mg pen this week and have the 7.5mg pen ready to go.

I have a lot to lose, started at 16 stone with a bmi of 38.8. I wrongly expected to have lost more by now.

My hormones have been out of whack for so long, I was diagnosied with premature ovarian failure at 24, having had perimopause symptoms since 18. I am now 40 and still have irregular periods, now about 3-4 a year. I can't take HRT and so generally feeling a bit rubbish!

Sorry for the downer post!

Not a downer. All friends here. Sorry to hear about your troubles. Keep going 💪🏻

I shouldn’t really be here, but I just want to say thank you to all of you who have posted on these five “November starters” threads. I started on NYE so today I’m on W1D5. Over the last week I’ve read right through all your posts and you have educated and inspired me, and I just wanted you all to know how much you’ve helped me get in the right mindset and have some idea of what I’m doing and what’s coming. Thank you.

welcome! And good luck on your new health journey. You’ve got this! 💪🏻

I spent a few days clearing out all the clothes in my wardrobe that no longer fit and now have a huge amount to chuck out and only a capsule wardrobe that actually fits.

🥳💪🏻

It would and you would still have the bonus if you were happy to go past the 30 days.

I am tempted to be honest! Wary of going over the 30 days but also conscious of the cost. It certainly seems to make sense to have a higher dosage pen and count the clicks.

Della82 · 04/01/2025 20:26

@Coffeeandcinnamonbun if you are taking 5 jabs from one pen you are within 30 days

#1 day 1
#2 day 8
#3 day 15
#4 day 22
#5 day 29

I will be! I did the 4th dose of my 2nd pen this week and there’s still about half left.

Anyone had any success in reducing gastric symptoms?!! I inject on Thursdays, 5mg, Thurs, Fri and Saturday I feel rough with sulphur burps, v sluggish bowels (apologies TMI) horrid reflux which wakes me and I need to sleep propped up. Reflux is pretty normal for me but the others are new and really not nice. I’m trying to eats lots of green veg and protein but wondered if the broccoli is adding to the sulphur symptoms… any ideas gratefully received…!

evilharpy · 04/01/2025 20:50

@Whattodowithaminute I'm getting awful heartburn which I think can be caused by reflux? Gaviscon barely touches it. I had sulphur burps for the first time all day yesterday (I inject on a Sunday) and it was horrendous. If it was a regular occurance I think I'd quit Mounjaro.

I had more booze than food calories on New Year's Eve (no hangover though; I didn't go mad!) and a takeaway yesterday that I knew would be tricky to calculate so I'll take a 2lb loss this week as one for the win column.

What a lovely message - I did the same with previous groups but it never occurred to me to thank them 😂

DarkForces · 04/01/2025 23:26

@Whattodowithaminute I've seen peppermint capsules recommended. I've not had this symptom but found them great for ibs. Freshened up my insides!

Just got on the scales having dodged them over Christmas. I stayed on 2.5mg and haven't really been trying not to eat, so was kind of expecting that I would have regained most of the 1.5 stone I have lost. In fact I've gained 2.5lb since 13th Dec. I am really pleased with that! Also, my period is slightly late (peri) and I can feel that I am retaining water so that might also be a factor. Am still going to go up to 5mg on my next pen but am very pleased to have retained most of my weight loss.

I did the same as you and terrified to weigh myself 🙈

Clothes don’t feel as loose although it could be water retention as I’ve had lots of salt.

I’ve ordered 5mg so I need to really get back on the saddle now and also weigh myself next 2 days, Eek! Hoping for a similar outcome as you but does feel like starting again

It's hard isn't it? I kept having to remind myself that I weigh what I weigh, objectively, so it doesn't change anything to know the number, but it is still hard!

Ticked down half a pound this morning, hopefully whoosh beginning post-Christmas/NY! I did go until 6pm without eating yesterday as an experiment, and I wasn’t hungry at all during the day.

KentishMama · 05/01/2025 10:43

My second week on 5 mg isn't going well. Injected Thursday morning. Diarrhea started Friday night. Settled somewhat during the day Saturday. Then one middle of the night episode Saturday night. Nothing since. (Sorry about TMI)

For those of you who've had diarrhea on dose increases, did it just settle? If so, how long did it take?

I have to travel to an oncology appointment tomorrow morning that I really can't miss - hoping I'll feel okay enough then.

And more worryingly, I have a business trip the following Monday. Going to the US. Maybe I'd be better off dropping down to 3.75 mg for my next injection to minimise chances of a repeat of this week?

namechangedyetagain · 05/01/2025 11:40

Weekly weigh in today. Lost less than a lb since NYE and weight loss seems to have stalled a bit. It's only been coming off by my basically starving myself which isn't sustainable. Really wanted to hit the 2 stone mark but I'm hovering at a 1.98 stone loss.
And absolutely no one has noticed, which just goes to show how fat I still am.

Back to work tomorrow so Sunday blues in full swing here

Does anyone know if you can take Imodium with Mounjaro?

PinkArt · 05/01/2025 11:56

I have @ElanBridge with no problems. I just need to remember to take less than I usually do for IBS, as otherwise I don't go again for days once it's done the trick.

KentishMama · 05/01/2025 12:34

Yes, I think imodium is an option - I guess I'll take some early tomorrow morning so I can make my oncology appointment. More meds though - I'm already on several due to (the aftermath of) cancer, so it feels like a vicious cycle.

DarkForces · 05/01/2025 12:47

That sounds so hard @KentishMama. You must be exhausted.

I've made so many changes to medication in 2024 - until this weekend, I was feeling the best I have in several years. I could just do without these sudden side effects... I guess I thought I was in the clear 8 weeks into MJ! Urgh!

namechangedyetagain · 05/01/2025 13:04

Just attempted to get out the bonus dose I failed to get last Sunday with an insulin needle. Liquid looked a little 'fizzy' but I think that's because it kind of shot back in to the pen then back out again. Primed and tapped the syringe and I think I got about 0.6ml out? Does that sound about right for a bonus dose?

Just hope that as it's over the 4 weeks that it won't make me ill. Still on the 5mg. Worried about the expense of going to 7.5mg.

0.6 is correct dose.
