Please please do not share discount codes, I am not looking for that!

I’m thinking seriously of starting injections, my BMI is 39.5 and I’ve previously struggled with diets. I spoke to the GP who has said I can start to access weight loss specialist help, but not injections and there’s a waiting list. I’m on the list but it’s a long one!

anyway, I’m looking for reviews of good providers of injections that aren’t scummy, good customer service and support. I’m particularly scared of fake medication. Cost isn’t the biggest driving factor here, so cheapest isn’t actually better.

i’m quite worried about all of this, as it feels very dodgy to be buying injections from the internet but I’m getting a bit desperate and any advice is really helpful.

If this isn’t allowed, I am sorry, I’m not 100% certain of what the rules are surrounding asking this.

thanks

Why not start with boots if you want recognisable.

WeAllHaveWings · 27/12/2024 11:59

Monj.co.uk has a list of registered pharmacies and prices and trust pilot reviews.

BrownJenkins · 27/12/2024 12:15

I can recommend MedExpress.

Shrinkingrose · 27/12/2024 12:19

I’d avoid medexpress. They don’t offer maintenance, are no longer the cheapest. And mess about trying to get new customers, they’ve even been warned by the regulatory authority, I’m leaving them, as are many others,

healthybychristmas · 27/12/2024 12:23

I recommend Bolt Pharmacy. They've been excellent for me and you can always speak to a pharmacist on the phone or by email.

SilenceInside · 27/12/2024 12:24

Look at the monj.co.uk website to start. All the websites listed there are GPhC registered which is what you need to be checking. Online pharmacies that are GPhC registered are monitored and inspected. They are not dodgy in the slightest and you can read the most recent inspection report for any registered pharmacy on the GPhC website.

Big names include Asda, Boots, Superdrug, Lloyds. Well known online prescribers include MedExpress, Voy, Oushk, to name a few. The medication is the same from wherever you buy it from. Different providers offer different services and different pricing as a result.

DarkForces · 27/12/2024 12:32

I'm with Ashcroft and found them great, but probably going to switch as price shoots up from 7.5. Just going with the cheapest without discounts as I'm not a fan of having to mess around with referral codes

TidyDancer · 27/12/2024 12:34

MedExpress are losing their appeal lately as they are tightening up their rules around price matching etc so if you can't get people to use the discount code (and the market for that is now incredibly saturated) they are probably not worth sticking with beyond your initial pen (which you can get a £40 discount on if you use a friend's code).

That said, I've been with them since the start of my 'journey' and they've been great with speed of dispensing and dispatch so I actually can't complain. I will be moving from them once I have used my credit with them because of the lack of maintenance issue. I'll need to be with a supplier who has a programme for that before I reach target (which tbf may be a way off for me but I still need to be conscious of it).

I would probably say avoid using any company who lock you into a subscription because you will either end up contracted to them with no 'out' or you'll forget it cancel and the price will go up. I would 100% go with a company you have to order each pen from individually.

Willowy1982 · 27/12/2024 12:37

I started off with Chemist 4 U and found them good, they accessed my medical records too which was reassuring. I had to provide my NHS number. I sinced moved to Oushk as I wanted a company who would offer maintenance. Their customer service seems exceptional although I've not had any issues to 'test' this yet. I'm now on maintenance with them which means I have a consultation every 3 months to discuss how I'm getting on etc.

doodleschnoodle · 27/12/2024 12:45

I'm with Cloud. Prices are okay, none of the stupid referral code gubbins or constantly changing discount codes you have to stay on top of, they approve and dispatch very quickly, support maintenance.

OushkSmoushk · 27/12/2024 13:37

Just be aware that Oushk hasn't got any GPhC inspections yet as they're still a new company.

OushkSmoushk · 27/12/2024 15:13

Edited to correct: They haven't got any published GPhC inspection report yet.

WeAllHaveWings · 27/12/2024 16:54

@FrenchFancie No inspection report on a new pharmacy is not something to be concerned about if they are otherwise recommended/have good reviews etc. They don't do inspections until a pharmacy has been in business for a while, as there would be no history to inspect!

You can probably tell from the pp name they have an ongoing personal peeve regarding Oushk. They pop up on threads every now and again, going out of their way to berate just them for no tangible reason other than not liking their business model/facebook posts.

Oushk are a small pharmacy, with what appears to be a happy customer base. They can be a bit twee/sugar sweet on their facebook page with some over enthusiastic customers, but if you ignore that they do offer reasonable support, reasonable prices, a choice of delivery dates/couriers, and are reliable etc.

There are other pharmacies that are cheaper and reliable too if that is your priority go for the pharmacy that suits you, if it is not the right one you can easily move for your next pen if you want to.

LostGhost · 27/12/2024 17:08

I'm with Cloud and always been really happy. They ship quickly, prices are reasonable and they've always been supportive when i've reached out with questions.

OushkSmoushk · 27/12/2024 18:34

Oushk brand ambassadors, promoters and marketers always run to threads to defend their brand at any mention of perceived criticism (a.k.a simply stating facts) as if other pharmacies don't get the same, if not worse. Then some of them send you hate messages because you dared to say anything less than 100% positive about Oushk. I wonder why.

TheWildRoseBear · 27/12/2024 20:21

OushkSmoushk · 27/12/2024 15:13

Edited to correct: They haven't got any published GPhC inspection report yet.

Surely to get on the register they need to apply for some license which is based on them being inspected?

SilenceInside · 27/12/2024 20:58

@TheWildRoseBear yes, so they will be registered but new registered pharmacies aren't inspected immediately. They will be in due course.
