I am taking Ozempic and have lost over 42 kg. I have type 2 diabetes and PCOS. My GP prescribed it for me after the weight management clinic recommended it. The endocrinologist mentioned that I should understand this medication may need to be taken long-term, potentially for life, due to the risk of rebound hunger and weight regain. However, my GP has previously stated that they shouldn’t prescribe Ozempic to me because I'm using it for weight loss, even though it is also used for diabetes management. Which has improved since taking it and they have agreed to prescribe it after the endocrinologist recommended it.
I still have weight to loose but I'm concerned that if I approach a normal BMI, they might stop my medication. I am also worried about where I would be able to obtain it online for the future. All the providers I have contacted say they do not prescribe it to patients with a BMI over 30. Is it worth buying it from a online pharmacy before my BMI goes too low so I can continue to buy?
