Hello!
I started 2.5 a week ago, took my second jab yesterday but I’ve not lost anything?
im 90Kg 5”5 , BMI 30

been eating far less than usual (I usually snack throughout the whole day) I haven’t snacked, not constipated.

had breakfast off an boiled egg and 1 slice of toast, and then dinner which is usually some type of chicken/fish with rice or potato’s so well within my calories. Drinking about 2L water with coffee twice a day- 1 Sugar and milk.

and exercising for 30 minutes, on the indoor bike at a leisurely pace

is this normal? I feel deflated!

It's a long term process, look at the average weight loss over each month that you're taking the medication. People react differently to the medication, you may find that it becomes more effective for you at higher doses.

You might find that reducing carbs and increasing protein and non-carby vegetables helps.

You might like to consider joining the December starters thread so you can give and receive support from people at the same stage as you. The continuing Mounjaro thread is a good one to join as well. The beginning of that thread there’s a lot of useful info. I agree it sounds like you could do to look into a healthy diet whilst on MJ. Good luck.

I didn't lose any weight until I got to 7.5mg, now I'm on 10mg it is working better. It's not a quick fix for most people.

Have you worked out your TDEE and are eating 500 cals below? Are you measuring everything? I was guessing the butter on my toast which was making a 100 cal difference?

WeAllHaveWings · 21/12/2024 12:09

If you have not already then try working out your cutting TDEE at sedentary level, 30m leisurely pace is good for your health but it doesn't count to increase your TDEE.

Try changing your chicken/fish with rice/potatoes to a larger portion of chicken/fish with veg and a very small portion of potato/rice (or none!). Eat protein and veg first and if getting full always leave the carbs rather than the protein or veg.

Weigh and log everything in an app, especially oils, fats, sauces and carbs. It is surprising how quickly a 400 cal meal can become a 700 cal one while not appearing that different.

Maybe try calorie cycling/eat more on low suppression days but keep to your cutting calories over the whole week.

If you don't measure it you can't manage it.

Over the week you’ve averaged enough cals to maintain at this weight. Likely 2500 or so a day, so if there isn’t something missing here. It’s portion control.
