I don’t have syringes and I’m due another dose in the morning. What’s the best way to try and get the bonus dose out of the pen

If you don't have syringes you'll have to do the hard twist, assuming you have a new pen needle you can use?
You have to give it a hard twist to break the mechanism, some use pliers to hold and twist if you can't do it by hand.
It doesn't always work this way, which is why I've always used a syringe to get a 5th dose from each pen.

Yes I think using a syringe gets all the dose out of the pen easily and can be measured , from what I have seen the pen still leaves a bit in.

I would advise get some syringes for next time.

Hard twist has worked for me the last 5 pens, though I do see from others sometimes there can be problems and the pen breaks. I need to use flat nosed pliers to help as I can't turn it hard enough.

Search YouTube for Mounjaro 5th dose kwikpen and there are videos.

I have syringes on standby, but I haven't needed them yet.

If you want to buy syringes google 1ml 8mm 32G to find suitable ones and buy from a medical supplier (not Amazon where you cannot be sure they are human grade)

Not to spell it out but, it needs to be injected into your body so there are only two solutions. The syringe is by far the easiest and you should probably go out and buy some, or order them online.

The second is 'breaking the pen' and attaching the pen needle to the end and using it as usual, however this method is difficult and people have mixed success with it. From the sound of posts from the last couple of months, it's possible there's been a change in the manufacturing of the pens to make it hard to access it.

So basically, buy syringes.
