Hi all

Just wondered if anybody knows of any suppliers that still don't require photo evidence and don't notify your GP please? As of Dec 2024.

Many thanks

Well hopefully there will be action taken

Quote from todays Times article below

The booming online market has raised significant safety concerns, with regulators warning they are prepared to shut down rogue pharmacies enticing “vulnerable people”.

We have the opportunity to use WLI and it would be awful if misuse by a few caused access for the many to be restricted

It's my biggest fear about MJ tbh. Every day there are scores of posts about people trying to get it without evidence they need it, still eating crow and expecting it to work but just getting horrible side effects and the 'sub/micro/golden dose' shit where people cannot simply take the meds as prescribed. It's going to affect the long term availability for many people who are using it correctly and seeing the benefits to their health.

@NoTouch

Unfortunately some people have probably been to their GP to ask for support with weightloss to be met with no real help and/or a dismissive/negative attitude and they worry about their GPs opinion on buying privately,

It's more likely to be because they they don't fit the criteria, have ED history or should not take it due to contraindications but do so anyway.

Deaths globally are very low and the deaths to date are people using it recklessly or using fakes, so if the op is trying to use it against prescription guidelines it won’t impact the legit users, ie reckless usage, it will just be the sources will be cracked down on and obvs she may sadly pay the price.

as said, all drugs that can be abused are. The golden dose is fine. I can’t see an issue there, it’s a week extra at a lower dose, within the date for usage, but micro dosing or staying on the low dose, all they do is ensure it will stop working at some point and then struggle to move to a higher dose as their bodies won’t tolerate it.

socjal media has a lot to answer for and a lot of these people are susceptible to suggestion, they see enough folks on line saying it and for some reason, common sense goes out the window and they think that must be better than what the doctors and scientists said. Ive also seen people use the same pen for months, thinking it’s fine, well past the disposal date. Not realising it’s fine until that one jab when it isn’t. Crazy ass shit.

but if the op is trying to obtain it fraudulently then the onus is on her and her dodgy supplier for whatever may happen to her. I do though struggle with folks helping her and giving suggestions. They are also culpable in my book, but maybe guilty of the same.

howver I think the overwhelming majority of users are legit. And using it correctly. And I guess yoh could have the same conversation and prescription painkillers or even something like ketamine.

there is no way to avoid stupidity.

I think maybe you’ve misunderstood, shutting down rogue pharmacies won’t impact the many. It will impact the ones who try to obtain the drugs fraudulently. Anyone using it legit does not buy from rogue pharmacies.

I am not denying that there will also be that element and they should be discouraged. But neither of us know if it is "more likely" and it is wrong, and not particularly helpful to assume which group the OP is in unless they say so.

Nah, it will be people not within the prescribing criteria trying to obtain it fraudulently.

I fit the criteria and I still didn’t want my gp knowing, I have a terrible relationship with them and now only use private gp where possible. Its not rational but having to alert them would completely put me off my weight loss journey. Being able to avoid that has helped me get healthier.

I wasn't taking about OP, I replied to your post which stated 'some people' - however if it's wrong for me to assume (which I didn't) it would be equally wrong for you to do so.
