Hi all

Just wondered if anybody knows of any suppliers that still don't require photo evidence and don't notify your GP please? As of Dec 2024.

Many thanks

What kind of photo evidence do they require?

NoTouch · 20/12/2024 16:40

Any that don't require evidence now will probably need it soon and regularly.

I would work on your issue with providing the evidence rather than trying to find a supplier that doesn't need it.

@Jingleberryalltheway It varies some ask for a full length (clothed) body photo, photo on the scales to check weight and physique is as the patient declares. Some even ask for video. It is a safety measure for distance prescribing, the purpose is to try to protect both the patient and themselves.

BeShyPlumLeader · 20/12/2024 16:41

Most seem to ask for photo evidence of you stood on the scales to prove how fat you are 😳

I’ve not had to send pictures of me on scales, just a full body shot plus photo ID.

hopeishere · 20/12/2024 16:42

Voy don't tell your GP. They do ask for a photo but you are clothed in it so don't worry!

BeShyPlumLeader · 20/12/2024 16:44

Thank you for your responses. Yes that's what I thought - photo of you holding your ID?

Try to reframe it in your mind as they are medical professionals and they are checking their eligibility for the medication, they are not asking for them to judge you. You are fully clothed. The photos are held securely, and only viewed by the prescriber.

It is uncomfortable, but understandable that they need to verify you are safe to take the medication.

BeShyPlumLeader · 20/12/2024 16:45

Who did you get yours from if you don't mind me asking please

This puts me off a bit.

Voy just want a photo. Not on the scales and no ID or anything required.

KrankyKumquat · 20/12/2024 16:56

It's unrealistic to expect to be able to obtain a powerful prescription medication without even the most rudimentary basic checks, such a GP details and visual confirmation of obesity. Any provider who does this is not reputable (ie registered with and subject to inspection by the pharmacy regulator) and will end up being shut down eventually. If you want to obtain a legal supply, you're going to have to get past your aversion to taking a quick photo (which will be one of thousands the pharmacist will have seen and be completely routine to them).

Queenofthejabs · 20/12/2024 17:02

Not wanting to take a photo of your Body or have your gp know would raise concern you’re not eligible and trying to get prescription medicine you shouldn’t be taking/

Absolutely @Queenofthejabs

KitsyWitsy · 20/12/2024 17:21

The pic won’t be posted on the internet. You just need to get it done so the prescribers can check you’re eligible. I don’t get the issue with informing GPs either. If you can’t do these then it says to me, you’re not eligible.

NoTouch · 20/12/2024 17:27

Jingleberryalltheway · 20/12/2024 16:47

This puts me off a bit.

The alternative is to look for a local pharmacy where you can have a face to face consultation and they can see you physically to see you are eligible, but most will expect you to also use their "support" which they will make you pay heavily for.

We all need to think of obesity as disease/illness that needs treatment, remove the shame from it. You wouldn't expect a Dr to prescribe you something for a wart on your bum without seeing it first. These pharmacies are similar professionals.

visitbreakfast · 20/12/2024 17:28

I sent a photo for mine but not on the scales and definitely not holding ID.

deademptyduck · 20/12/2024 17:29

Is your BMI not high enough? Are you trying to get around that?

ineedmoresleepnow · 20/12/2024 17:29

Pharmacy online don't ask for photos and the GP informing is optional.

MounjaroOnMyMind · 20/12/2024 17:31

I'm with Bolt (it was recommended on here) and they asked for a photo of my driving licence and a full-length photo, including face. It was horrific. They asked for another at the six-month check up and the difference was incredible. They're not standing in judgement on you, don't worry. They just need to see that you're not slim already. There was no doubt about that in my photo! What was interesting is how much better in all sorts of ways I looked - so much happier, fitter, clothes fit better, etc. It was such a boost, really.

TeenLifeMum · 20/12/2024 17:31

I’m on mounjaro and think the photo is actually really important part to ensure appropriate prescribing. I’d assume you’re not eligible if you’re trying to find work arounds. I’m with Asda pharmacy as I felt more comfortable knowing the company (appreciate I pay extra compared to others but I’m okay with that).

MounjaroOnMyMind · 20/12/2024 17:46

With Bolt I can see the letters that they send my GP every month.

whateveryousay · 20/12/2024 18:00

Juniper only wanted a photo of my belly 🙈 No full length pic, or face in shot. I did send ID too, separately.

Edited to add that they don’t inform GP either, as far as I’m aware. Although I wouldn’t mind if they did.

Moshta · 20/12/2024 18:06

voy don’t inform gp that’s why I chose them. You do need a pic though
