5th bonus dose question

I’ve just done a 5th bonus dose and got 0.9ml out of a 5mg pen - is my maths correct that the dose is equivalent to 7.5mg?

Yes, I think so. A full dose is 0.6ml, which would be 5mg. You have another 0.3ml which is a half dose of 5mg so 2.5mg to make 7.5mg altogether.

Thanks. That’s what I worked it out as too.
Hopefully I’ll feel ok on the increased dose but I’ve not had much food suppression the last couple of weeks on 5mg so fingers crossed

How did you get it out? I tried but the dispenser wouldn't turn any more.

Most of the people buy syringes and extract the remaining amount from the pen.

Does anyone know a safe place to buy syringes? I've seen people say by doing that, your at risk of buying needles not for human purpose or not sterile, but want to be able to slit my doses in half so inject more often.

Don’t buy from Amazon as they’re listed for pets or measuring, and not for medical purposes.

MediSupplies or UK Medi are the two websites most frequently recommended. You’re probably after the 8mm needles (bigger than the ones supplied with the mounjaro, but still short enough that you’re injecting into fat), and you need the syringe to hold 1ml. It then has marks on the side - you’re pulling out 0.6 for a full dose (60 marked on the syringe if it’s a 1ml capacity). Often people get 0.8 or even 0.9 so it acts as a dose and a half.

I got mine from UKMedi.

I made a right hash of it though and ended up not doing it at all! It all got sucked back in which I head was going to happen but I didn’t expect it to be quite so much and then the needle was wonky so in the end I just used the next pen…

You need to push air into it first to avoid it getting sucked back in. I read that tip from a post on here a while back.

I basically push a whole 1ml of air in (the whole of the syringe) then pull the syringe back (it practically does it itself to be honest) to extract the liquid. Makes it very easy to do like this.
