Wegovy 1.7mg not working

Any ideas why this doesn't work for me?

I did .25mg for a month, lost a tiny amount of weight.
Did 0.5 mg for 4 weeks , a small amount of weight started to go.
Then 0.5 for next 4 weeks
Then 1mg for 4 weeks
Now on 1.7 mg second dose of 4 weeks.

I've lost a grand total of 10 lbs in all that time. Cost me a fortune. I've stored correctly and taken as instructed

Don't want to belabour the obvious, but have you changed your diet and upped your exercise etc? Wegovy won't lose the weight for you, it's a tool to help you make the needed changes without having to fight against the food noise as well. So for instance I started intermittent fasting, ate more healthily, and did the Couch to 5k running programme.

Yes, I’m wondering how are you doing with diet and exercise generally?

It also depends on your starting weight too which you don’t give. I’m 14 stone and if I lost 10lbs in 3 months and felt well with no side effects I’d see that as a fairly OK result.

In the trials, I think the stats for weight loss are actually fairly modest - I can’t remember for Wegovy (15% in a year?), Mounjara slightly higher (22% in 72 weeks?). I assume healthier eating and lower calories will speed this up …/. But no one wants to make themselves ill losing weight - so slow and steady as she goes is best - IMO. In reality, in controlled trials the loss is fairly modest.

I think “non-responders” are v low - perhaps 2%?

There is a thread on here called the slow losers thread - but they are nearly all losing very fast IMHO!!!! Some of it may be expectations? I have that for some it can take a good few months to get really working as well.

What do you think OP?

Mine is similar to this tbh, I'm 46 ,
Peri menopausal , so I'm
Blaming this for slow weight loss .
I am losing , currently on 5mg ( 3rd week ) been on since September and have lost around 12lb. I am over 13 stone so plenty to lose.
My appetite is definitely reduced but not by crazy amounts .
I'm keeping going though , my next jab will be 7.5mg so crossing my fingers

bugalugs45 · 16/12/2024 18:06

Mine is Mounjaro btw

Papiane · 16/12/2024 18:17

Personally I don’t think it’s healthy for your appetite to be reduced by “crazy amounts”. Im guessing there’s then more chance of illness, fatigue, nausea, muscle loss and various side-effects, etc? To lose nearly a stone in less than 2 months isn’t so bad?!

That's not a bad loss. I started 18 September am in 10mg now and have lost 10lb which I am pleased with.

Itdidntworkforme · 17/12/2024 06:55

Not sure whether to plod on or change to a different type

That's not a bad loss but that could be achieved with just a reduction in calories and some home light exercise.

If the injections aren't making a difference save the money and revert to diet and lifestyle changes.
