Coping with Christmas socialising

I’m finding this trickier than anticipated. So many meals booked, pretty late in the evening which causes me some discomfort, and also the quantities of food- its great when it’s a buffet but when it’s a 7 course meal it’s really hard to eat beyond the starter.

My boss is extremely generous, and orders lots of wonderful food/ restaurants and it feels rude to not each much, but it’s not an environment where my diet is the focus ( I’m attending a lot of events with business colleagues in a PA role).

with friends the focus has always been food too, and to change those traditions is tricky. I’m not sure whether to reduce my dose for a couple of weeks, but I don’t want to lose momentum. How are you navigating the season?

Just having a bite or two and no alcohol

I’m aiming to just to stay the same over the Christmas period rather than gain half a stone like I usually do. It’s unexciting in terms of weight loss but it means I can have a drink and have fun and means I’m still enjoying the socialising.

I've been out for a few meals. I just eat a little bit of most things and stop when I am full. None has even commented on it. I now realise most people are not paying attention to what you eat or drink. They are too busy concentrating on their own food and having a lovely time.

I just explain I’m dieting and eating smaller portions. It’s clear I’m losing weight, visibly, and people just accept it.
