Moanjaro question

Hi I have my first pen for moanjaro but was wondering If it will be ok in the fridge as want to start after Xmas. It's unopened to

Store it in the fridge, chilled and away from lighy, until you want to use it. As long as it's not been up to room temperature it will be fine until its use by date.

As per the PP, unused, the pen can be kept in the fridge until its expiry date printed on the pen. Usually several months away.

If you haven't already, I'd find the paper patient information leaflets in the box and read them now before you start. And then again before you do the first injection in January.

Open the box and there are two instruction leaflets inside. They both have information about storage of used and unused pens. Worth a read.

You might also want to buy swabs if your supplier did not send them (my first one didn't), and there is information on its impact on the contraceptive pill that many seem to miss.

I keep mine in a fridge all the time. The leaflet says to refrigerate if unused. Once you start using it it can be kept in a room temperature up to 30° away from source of heat and sunlight.

It's also worth checking the actual pen just to check it's the right dosage and looks ok. The liquid in the pen should be absolutely clear.

Thankyou everyone for your help and advice I looked at the expiry date and said 11/2025 so that's ok. Ive looked at the pen but seems good and clear liquid .

I never got any swabs. Is this meant to help with cleaning injection site on skin Do you use before or after injection, or both? Sorry, I have never seen this mentioned anywhere before and I’m not sure what this is about. Thank you.

I clean the red dot with the swab. And the injection site. I didn't get any with mine so I use the alcohol wipes I got during COVID as I have about a million left.

It is for cleaning the end of the pen before you insert the needle.

Current medical thinking is that using a wipe on the skin makes no difference whatsoever to the risk of infection (which is practically zero anyway) and may in fact be detrimental (risk of increased skin reactions and pain), which is why it isn't done anymore in clinical settings for injections and vaccinations.

Where did you get it? It should have come in a sealed box with instructions re storage and use
