Trying to get a 2.5mg dose out of 5mg pen

I’ve got 1 5mg dose left in a pen, but I want to make it 2 doses of 2.5mg. However, I only count 14 clicks when I’ve seen it needs to be 30? Help 🥲

I don't understand what you mean by "I only count 14 clicks". Maybe try counting the lines in the window rather than the click noise? You should be able to count them as you twist and count up to 30. You can then mark that position with a sharpie so you don't have to count next time.

it looks to me like that’s the golden dose and that you’ve already had your 4 regular doses from that pen. Prepared to be told I’m mistaken. In which case you’d have to hard twist to break the dosing mechanism to extract all that remains. And then the only way to be sure what dose you are getting is to transfer it to a syringe. I’ve never tried this. Hopefully someone with more experience will be along shortly.

You've already had all 4 doses from the pen. You need to use either an insulin syringe or hope the hard twist method works to extract the "bonus" dose.

30 clicks or 0.3ml will be 2 5mg from a 5mg pen.

You need an insulin syringe if you want to half your extra/5th/bonus dose. That's what you have left on your pen.

To get 2.5mg from your 5mg pen with an insulin syringe, you need to extract 0.3ml/30. Then later you can use another syringe to extract the rest for your next dose.
