I didn’t eat as much for lunch as I usually would on Christmas Day, but I did have cheesecake for dessert. I’ve been too full to make anything for tea, however we’ve got lots of cakes in that just have to be eaten or they’ll go off, so I’ve just forced down a mince pie blondie 😂 I’m looking forward to all the treats disappearing.

lovealongbath · 25/12/2024 19:17

I am still on 2.5, this is day 6 so jab day tomorrow!

I thoroughly enjoyed my Christmas dinner, ate the most I have eaten in 6 weeks and 2 glasses of fizz, not had alcohol since I started.

So back on it tomorrow and refocus.

Invisablepanic · 25/12/2024 20:20

I had my usual size Xmas dinner with about half a bottle of champagne, ended up snoring on the couch for half an hour. We got the cheese board out earlier this evening and I just had two crackers with cheese and I'm done for the day, so all in all, I've enjoyed my food but definitely less than usual. No snacks, but I didn't buy anything in I would be particularly tempted by.

BlueWalker · 25/12/2024 20:34

I just had a small bit of everything I fancied (I love my MIL's buffet style serve yourself then sit method) and then a bit of Christmas pud at the end (thanks to my mum, who is also on MJ, on the pudding station). About now is when I would want All The Cheese but I deliberately didn't get any in, so I am both ruing that decision and feeling smug I made it. Emotional duality achieved! That's a new one on me.

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 25/12/2024 23:36

Christmas dinner at 7.30 - today I have eaten 3/4 of a bacon roll (this is literally unheard of), exactly 2 crisps with hummus (ditto) and quite a lot of Christmas dinner. However, a) I did not clear my plate, b) I put back one pig in a blanket, a stuffing ball and a roastie and c) I didn’t have pudding. Admittedly only the kids had pudding (Yule log) and even DH didn’t ask for actual Christmas pud. On the downside I’m quite pissed, having soldiered on past the initial Buck’s Fizz to champagne, sherry and port (in that order), oops.

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 25/12/2024 23:37

Jab day is supposed to be tomorrow but quite scared that I’ll be too ill.

Mine was meant to be Xmas Eve but I delayed 24 hours and did it after Christmas dinner. Limited what I ate and drank but not incredibly strict and it was fine.

Well i had a fabulous Christmas gift of hitting my 2 stone milestone 🥳🥳 I was disappointed though that after all the effort of cooking I couldn’t eat very much of it :(

Today will consist of packing for a week away so it will be interesting to see how I get with a week of unlimited food and no daily weighing!

I did my jab last night. I managed to cook Christmas dinner for 10 of us. I'd been worried about cooking because I've had no desire at all to cook since starting. Powered my way through the champagne 🍾 and suffered with heartburn all night.
Going to weigh in this morning and time to turn my back on the chocolate and cakes beckoning me.

DarkForces · 26/12/2024 08:21

Santa's smart scales have arrived and it's not good news. My old ones showed me as about 2.7-13stone, new ones have confirmed I'm 12st 13 lb. At least I know now though and can stop guessing. Plus I've definitely broken into the 12s! God knows where I started!

PandasMum · 26/12/2024 08:28

Jabbed and 7.5! Equally nervous & optimistic at once. I’m one of the early birds here as I started November 1! Ending the 1st 8 weeks bang on 2 stone loss which I know is amazing but it’s been barely anything for 3 weeks so I’m hoping for some movement with the 7.5.

IndigoHexagon · 26/12/2024 08:29

Urghh… Santa took my Christmas wish too far last night. I don’t know whether it was the glass of wine and two baileys I had after dinner but suffice it to say, I am most definitely no longer constipated.

Madickenxx · 26/12/2024 08:35

Happy Boxing Day! My favourite day of all when expectations are lower, no one wants to eat too much and everything is just more chilled.

Yesterday was lovely. For the first time ever it was just DH and me for the day with the kids turning up in the evening with boy/girlfriends in tow around 7pm for leftovers and games. We are all exchanging presents today as DH has just gone to pick up DSD so am looking forward to that.

Food wise, like @Coffeeandcinnamonbun my suppression doesn't stop me enjoying food, it just makes me less hungry so I had a lovely bacon roll for breakfast. Didn't manage a full Xmas dinner plate and just had a couple of chocolates in the evening. I did polish off most of a bottle of champagne and a glass of wine with dinner but don't feel any real after effects this morning but no drinking today.

I'm on 5mg and am very happy with it so far. This is my 2nd pen and I may order a 3rd rather than going up to 7.5. Let's see how I fare the next couple of weeks.

Let us know how you get on with 7.5! I’ve just done the ‘bonus’ dose from my 5mg - got just under 0.7ml out of it so that’ll be maybe like a 5.5mg? 6mg?

I just weighed myself (admittedly after breakfast) and it was not good. My period is due which may not be helping either, but I’m glad to have jabbed again!

Bisognodelsole · 26/12/2024 09:08

Hope everyone has had a lovely Christmas. After sailing through the first 8 weeks with no issues and good losses, the side effects have really kicked in here😥
Terrible heartburn and nausea all day on Christmas Eve so I probably should’ve held off on the jab did that evening, which was my first 7.5mg, After that, had to retire to bed early but up half the night with awful vomiting and diarrhoea. Felt okay afterwards but didn’t eat much of my Christmas dinner and definitely no alcohol 🤢
Then more sickness during the night. Feel gutted as it’s been going so well and now worried in case I have to stop. Anyone else had issues like this which passed?

Sorry to hear this. How are you feeling now?

Hopefully it is just a blip (or maybe an unrelated tummy bug?)

Bisognodelsole · 26/12/2024 09:31

Thank you. Really hoping it’s just a blip. Feels different to a normal tummy bug. I can feel the acid gradually building up throughout the day and the sulphur burps have been horrendous. No appetite whatsoever and have been eating well up until now. Trying to pinpoint what might have caused it but struggling. Some cheese and biscuits on Christmas Eve, but only 3 crackers, and a small amount of pate yesterday seem to be the only possible culprits

Invisablepanic · 26/12/2024 10:19

@Bisognodelsole cheese sets off my heartburn so it could be that?

My period has arrived, late this month as opposed to early last week. I'm 40 so it might be more peri rather than mj related although up until recently I was v regular. It does seem to have eased my constipation though which is an unexpected bonus.

7.5 for the first time tomorrow, little nervous as we're going away but I'm feeling like 5 isn't doing much for me. I lost the bulk of my 15lbs in the first 5 weeks I think. Also annoyed at myself for not keeping a weekly record of losses!

I jab on a Sunday but one random Friday I woke up with diarrhoea and a painful stomach. My stomach kept feeling worse until I actually passed out. I can’t think of anything that I ate around the time, or if it was definitely MJ related as it was day 5 of that week, but I’m scared of it happening again. I have been fine since though, so hopefully just a one off.

lovealongbath · 26/12/2024 10:45

Today is weigh and jab day. I have stayed the same weight as last week.

Interesting observation…

First Pen no real side effects although had some hair issues.
Second pen , which is still 2.5 dose, I started last Thursday….

  • I have had horrific constipation, not 💩 for a week.
  • absolutely shattered by 9pm, sleeping by 10pm but wide awake by 1am, feeling awful, not nauseous as such, but heavy and full due to constipation. Drinking peppermint tea during the night to ease symptoms. and not getting back to sleep until approx 4am.

I don’t know whether to delay tonight’s jab until I 💩.

IndigoHexagon might have a couple of baileys tonight, see if your theory works 🤔

WoodsWanderer · 26/12/2024 10:45

Morning all. I'm a daily weigher and I've gone up 0.4lbs every day the past 3 days even with tracking absolutely everything and not topping 1500 calories (I usually manage about 1100). It makes me really nervous for life after mounjaro if I'm gaining at 1500 on it.
I've gone for a second week at 3.75 this morning. If it wears off in a few days I'm planning to do 2.5 (the extra from last week and this) on Monday.
Hope you all enjoyed yesterday, I'm mostly glad the pressure is over and looking forward to the rest of my annual leave now 😊

Yes that happened to me once when I’d both jabbed and thought I could manage a large dinner / curry as it was my birthday. I regretted it hugely and was up ALL night. It definitely wasn’t the food as my husband was fine & also I could just sort of tell - the burps and heartburn etc. It’s not happened again but also I’ve not risked that sort of dinner again so even Christmas Day I was quite careful and avoided dessert and cheese.

Try vitamin D I've had interrupted sleep for decades, started high strength vitamin D 3 weeks, ago sleeping very well and it has improved my low mood/winter SAD. Do you drink more water? it may help with fatigue, it did for me, I was dehydrated and didn't realise it, may help with your constipation too

If you're having salty food, it is probably water retention. I put on 1.5lbs as it was my birthday and work buffet last week and I'm a savoury lover. Drank 1.5litres water per day since Saturday, lost 2lbs in 2 days and further since. Worth a try if you aren't already. Also go higher protein, less carbs, really works and prevents hair loss.
