Going back down to 2.5?

I am doing 3.75 from a 5pen by counting clicks. But I'm barely eating anything. I think 5 would be too much. I was thinking of going down or maybe sticking at 3.75.

Anyone just stuck with a low level?

Week 8, still on 2.5, still getting good suppression, and no food noise. I intend to stay as low as I can for as long as I can. Yes, I know it's not a therapeutic dose. I can't explain it either.

Thanks. I just feel that I'm not reeducating my eating as I'm just not hungry enough. I'd rather feel a bit more appetite and make healthier choices than just eating nothing.

Me. I bob around between 3-3.75mg at the moment, 11 jabs so far.

@ThatSchoolOfficeLady - I read the research paper because I was interested in this. It's not really a case of 'therapeutic dose' or not. The trials had to show a weight loss of at least 5-10% in most people in order for the drug to be considered as useable for weight loss purposes. In the trials, only 10-15% of people lost that much on 2.5mg, which isn't enough to meet the criteria, whereas 85-90% of people lost that much on 5mg and above. Hence why the prescribing doses are as they are.
But circa 10-15% of people will lose on the lower dose, nothing magical happens at 5mg. We are just in the 10-15% who respond at lower doses Smile

Plenty of people stay on a low dose, me being 1 of them. I am on 5mg now but was on 2.5 for quite some time (3 pen including bonus doses) There is no point of increasing the dose in my opinion if the lower one works for you. Also, people seem to report more side effects on higher doses. The only positive of ordering 5mg is that price wise they are the same(at least with Medexpress) and you can always count clicks to inject lower dose if you find 5mg offers too much suppression. Hopefully OP will a solution that works for you.

Yes, I stayed on lower doses. Only just gone up to 5 mg and I am six months in. If you click on my photo you'll see that I went up too high for me twice and then went back down due to side effects. I would either stick on 3.75 mg or go down a bit more - probably not all the way to 2.5 mg though. Maybe try 3.3 mg (40 clicks)?

How many clicks for 3.75?

SLRUS · 14/12/2024 11:00

Sorry to hijack but how do you get the bonus dose? I try and turn the pen but it's impossible.

IReallyNeedThisToWork · 14/12/2024 11:37

@SLRUS have a search and you’ll see loads of info about this.

Basically, you either have to ‘force’ the pen (some people use pliers) or buy some insulin syringes and draw it out through the red bung.

Thanks so much @IReallyNeedThisToWork xx

Week 25 and still at 3.75mg. No plans to move unless suppression dips too low for at least 2-3 weeks, as I find it comes and goes. Just now it is high enough to encourage me to keep in my weekly calorie deficit without full suppression, some days with very low before it kicks back in, which is a nice balance for me.
