Lack of thirst

Anyone else struggling to get their hydration in?
before MJ I used to drink loads. (non alcoholic)
Out of my friendship group I drank the most and could down pints of diet soft drink daily. Free refills in restaurants was my jam.
Fast forward to being on MJ and my thirst levels have plummeted. More so than my appetite.
There is some appetite suppression but I am still eating out of habit somewhat. I am having to make a conscious effort to drink.
I had some blood tests a while back and my levels were off as I was moderately dehydrated. I guess it just goes to show how closely linked thirst and hunger is.

Are you sure irs not a lack of craving for diet soda? That wasn’t thirst, that was the craving for the soda. And the crap it contains. It is so unhealthy.

ypu need to drink water. Buy yourself a refillable litre bottle and keep it with you sipping on it throughout the day,

I didn’t think of it that way and yes I was addicted to it before! I think it’s a mixture of the 2 being less thirsty and not craving the diet drinks.

Actually I’m the same. I’ve also not felt thirst enough to keep properly hydrated and I don’t like drinking plain water. I make myself drink highly diluted sugar free squash quite regularly.

TurnAgainPaperTig · 09/12/2024 23:19

Yes I notice I’m not so thirsty. I also drink squash when I remember. I’ve had to stop diet cokes and other fizzy drinks as they make my belly puff up like a balloon!

We)l it depends on what thirst you have.**^

BenditlikeBridget · 09/12/2024 23:32

Yes, I have found the same, I have to just keep making drinks and forcing them down.

I was a Pepsi max addict and when I stopped craving it I used a water app to send reminders to my phone to drink and to log how much for a few weeks to get into the habit of it.

I have a pint of water first thing, then the app reminds me throughout the day. The more I move the more thirst I feel, I can drink another pint or more during my lunchtime brisk walk. Then the app reminds me through the afternoon.

I make up 800ml-1L of clear protein (strawberry) + collagen with ice and drink it after dinner/the evening.

Sounds interesting but what is it? Is that a protein shake, and collagen, which you add to water? Is it sugary/ sweet?
