MJ- Breaking pen/ bonus dose Q

Hopefully someone will understand what I'm asking!

I understand that 4 normal doses, to get the rest out, you'd need to break the pen.

But say I had a 7.5mg pen but counted the clicks to do 5mg, would the pen then last past the part it would usually need breaking? Or would it still give up at the normal point?

Please someone understand what I'm asking...! 😂

There four standard doses in each pen, and 60 clicks for each. So it will lock at 240 clicks, however you’ve split them.

I'm on 5 at the moment. I'm thinking if I get a 7.5 but do 48 clicks, I'll get 5 weeks rather than 4 out of it...

I kept a note of the clicks used on my last pen and I got 257 clicks in total (including priming) before it locked.

The last dose stopped after 22 clicks so I hard twisted to get to the final dose I wanted (I had previously marked with a ballpoint).

I find it so much easier to use an insulin syringe and needle - always do this as was wary of breaking the pen!

There are also 2 priming clicks for each dose so it will probably lock after 250 clicks instead of 240.

My last pen though seemed to have gone past 250 clicks before it locked because I was so sure all I had left was 30 clicks due to using a lower dose but I go 43 clicks instead before it locked. I can't tell for sure how many clicks in total that was but it had to be more than 250 even because I'd primed each dose I used.
