What to do about holiday

My last dose of 5mg will be on Xmas eve. I go away for 8 days on the 31st Dec so am not sure what to do about my dose. I don't want to start on 7.5mg over Xmas and probably wouldn't want to go up that high anyway so I could ask Voy to send me another 5mg pen. I could potentially take it over Xmas but I don't want to take it on holiday. Is it ok to take a break for a week? It's my 40th early Jan so just not sure how to play it. I feel ok on it but not wonderful- mainly fatigued and I feel like my anxiety has stepped up but I love losing weight. Also want to be able to celebrate and have a drink etc so not sure what to do! Any advice appreciated x

I've taken a break when I've gone on holiday and plan on doing the same when I go again in a few weeks. I checked with my pharmacist and as long as you don't have more than a 14 day gap between doses you are okay, more than 14 days and they advise to start back on 2.5mg.

Stay on 5mg but don’t take a break. It completely defeats the purpose of the changes you need to make to stop taking it for a splurge.

I went on to an all inclusive holiday at 7.5mg and still had a great time just smaller portions

I’d advise taking a break to go away.

I am currently on holiday and took it on the morning I left. We are s/c so eating out and I feel I am wasting money on meals as not enjoying them and wasting food as cannot eat it all.

What did your advisor at Voy recommend? This is the type of question and tailored advice you would hope to expect as added value from their super expensive offering!

I’d order a 7.5 pen and take a 5mg dose from it, and then step up to 7.5 when you come back

I took mine with me and took it on the usual days. I didn't increase my dose though so counted clicks from my 7.5 pen to give me the same as the bonus dose from my 5.0 pen.

I took a dose the day before I flew out, one midway through the holiday and one the day before I flew home.

It was easy to take, I bought a cheap insulated case as I was travelling long haul to a very hot country and didn't want to risk the pen getting too warm.

I was able to eat and drink fine just smaller quantities, 3 meals most days but just one course or maybe a shared starter. No side effects apart from a bit of constipation at the beginning but DH had similar and he isn't on MJ it was just an effect of long haul travel and change of diet.

I have lost over 2lbs while being away, my belt is noticeably looser than when I left too.

I wouldn't take a break but if only going for a week I might adjust my injection day with a view to jabbing before I left and then a day late upon return as that would save taking the pen.
