Hi all
Can someone please advise what supplements are helpful alongside MJ? I've heard people talk about vitamin d and magnesium but I've also seen people on insta talking about collagen. Would just like an easy guide as to what I should be taking. I've just started on 5mg and don't feel too great today so think I should probably add in some sups to help thanks so much

I just take a good quality multivitamin for women over 50, and vit d with calcium which I always pick up from Tesco with their 3 for price of 2 packs from Tesco (for bone health given my age). I started both well before MJ and haven't added in anything extra - no idea if they're doing anything much but not a problem to continue indefinitely. I think some use collagen for hair loss/excess skin but I haven't noticed any issues with either in the 7months I've been using MJ so decided to save my money and not bother. Magnesium comes in different forms so useful if you have particular symptoms like poor sleep or constipation - you just have to get the right type.

I take

a psyllium husk with a probiotic added each morning with a large glass of water. Keeps me regular , and avoids any stomach upsets.

i also take biotin and collagen capsules to ensure my hair remains healthy

i have a Huel black shake each day to help,me eat enough protein, for the same reason,

i also take a number of other supplements, vit c.b12, calcium, zinc, iron etc, but did anyway, the above is the new ones.

What are the chicory root and creatine monohydrate for?

Most adults in the UK should take a winter vitamin D supplement.

I take Wellness multivitamin for my age. Plus a 3000ug vitamin D spray

There is absolutely no ‘should’ about any supplements and it is entirely up to you whether you feel you need to take anything or not. I take a variety but have been taking most of them for ages before I started on Mounjaro.

Currently, I take:
Inessa Advanced Multivit
Marine collagen (skin, hair and nails!)
Gut Feel (prebiotic)
Ashwagandha (this has really helped my sleep!)
Magnesium Glycinate 3-1 (sleep and leg cramps)

@SENMUMwhatnext the chicory root (inulin) is a prebiotic to help digestion and creatine is supposed to help boost muscle energy/recovery/ improve lean muscle mass

I'm taking psyllium husk to prevent constipation. Multi vit, biotin and collagen for peri, vit D and magnesium.

daffodilandtulip · 06/12/2024 11:58

Does anyone take a vitamin D tablet that isn't huge? Yes I'm a baby, but I can't swallow the different ones I keep finding.

Bumblebeehum · 06/12/2024 11:59

I'm coming up to 3 months now I take daily:

Multivitamin
Cod liver oil
Iron
Laxido

I occasionally add in collagen (mainly if I'm short on protein), vitamin D and Berocca.

Lobstercrisps · 06/12/2024 12:01

@daffodilandtulip mine are tiny. New Leaf vitamin D from amazon. I mean teeny tiny.

Mine are tiny too. They do another one with K2 which apparently is good for absorption.

Recently I've been taking

Perfectil Hair
Biotin
Omega 3
Vit D+K Spray
Iron Spray
Marine Collagen powder

Hoping for some hair regrowth as really thin now, but it's early days.
