Fine needle syringe

Hi,

Does anyone know if you can buy fine needle syringes from a pharmacy in England?

My Mounjaro pen has broken and the bit you press to release the medication no longer has any resistance and just drops down releasing no medication (bonus dose for info).

I really would like to use the last dose as my repeat order hasn't even been actioned yet and I was due my dose yesterday 😭

You can buy 32G 4mm pen needles such as this one from any pharmacy selling it. Most seem to sell 31g or 30g, but 32g (guage) is one of the finest/thinnest needles, and 4mm is the shortest among 6mm, 8mm, etc. Even if you don't use this particular pharmacy to buy them, go for 32G and 4mm if you're looking for finest and shortest pen needles.

I think you mean you need a syringe to get the liquid out, is that right?

Just realised you meant syringes, not pen needles. Sorry my mistake. The same spec applies but here is somewhere to buy fine needle syringes and also amazon. It can be difficult to find 4mm syringe needles. So 8mm will do. Most pharmacies also sell 30g needles so you can shop around and find 30g 6mm or something.

You could perhaps go into a pharmacy with your pen and prescription label and ask to speak to the pharmacist. Tell them it is broken and ask if they can they supply a 1ml 8mm 32G/31G syringe to extract the medication. I expect most will have them in stock as they will be needed for other medications, they just probably need evidence of why you need them to be comfortable selling to you.

Otherwise the link shared above will work, but you will need to wait a few days.

Yes, a syringe to get the liquid out but I'd also need to inject it.
Thank you xx

Hi, I honestly think, you are turning the pen in a wrong way. It happened to me with my first pen. The plunger just kept on going back to the beginning of a 4th dose. I gave up and bought syringes. Once I extracted the bonus dose with syringe I decided to play with a pen and sure enough I was able to force the pen to work! It requires a lot of strength though 💪. There are some videos on YouTube of how to do it. Good luck 🍀

I managed to buy some syringes from small, private pharmacy on the High Street. I explained that my pen broke and they sold it to me.

Pharmacy should have 30g (maybe 29G) 8mm 1ml insulin shot fixed needles (syringe and needle)

Mysticmaiden2024 · 02/12/2024 19:22

Insulin syringe
I've just bought these as same thing happened to me with the plunger falling back and not engaging. I used pliers to break the pen. It worked for my first pen but not this one! £5.54 including delivery
