Totally lost my sweet tooth but can't stop craving salt - help?

Has anyone else experienced this? I am eating way less (no pun intended!) overall but really craving salt and umami flavours. I am a bit lactose intolerant so got some vegan mature Cheddar and I cannot stop myself nibbling on it.

It is really weird as I have an extremely sweet tooth usually. Really really sweet: bags of haribo in one sitting and a triple bounty the same day.

Am I lacking something? Do I need to eat more or less salt?

I'm really happy I am not constantly craving sugar as sweet cakes from the bakery aisle were a huge part of my binge-eating disorder (muffins, pain au chocolate, croissants etc.)
Yet now I don't fancy them at all.

Any advice would be muchly appreciated thank you x

I prefer very savoury strongly favoured foods now too, I have things like hot bouillon to sip on, it's kind of like Bovrill but a bit less gravyish and more of a broth. Beef jerky, boiled eggs with salad cream, pickled onions, anything that's got a bit of oomph. Scrambled eggs with finely chopped chilli, onions and a dash of hot sauce is another favourite at the minute.

Yes, I've noticed a prefer things with a stronger taste now. Not spicy though, I don't fancy that anymore. It's great that you've gone off the sweets! I haven't bought a bar of chocolate in six months. I can hardly believe it!

Oh I hear you LOUD and CLEAR!

Feta is currently my favourite cheese and I have to stop myself having soy sauce every meal!
