I stared Mounjaro a month ago. It's been going really well and I've just come to reorder and it's rejecting it as my BMI is now considered healthy. Now I have issues with it using BMI as I feel that is oudated but it is what it is. In terms of weight loss, I've lost just under a stone but it's not particularly showing, I'm still in the same size clothes (16/18). I'm wondering how all these people I see on tik tok who are size 12/14 are getting their prescriptions from as I'm much bigger and have been rejected. I'm absolutely gutted, my me tal health and self esteem has been great since starting and I feel absolutely devastated at the thought of not being able to continue for at least one more month.

Has anyone got any tips or advice for my situation. Are so e pharmacies more flexible than others?

Thanks

I'm with MedExpress and I'm happy with them. Current bmi is 27

I feel your pain, currently with MedExpress and they requested my photos 3 times this week! Because I've lost 3 stone they are now stalling and saying my photos don't show me enough, despite it being exactly their requirements!

I don't know who else to order from now as my photos don't show how much I weigh and my BMI is still too high. I don't want to quit mounjaro yet!

I've just placed an order with Cloud. They didn't even ask for my GP details which I thought was odd. I'm hoping they will approve it. I'm sure these tiktokers must be lying about their weight to still be able to get it prescribed.

Which pharmacy? Did you start a whole new order without accessing your account, or perhaps is there a reorder process that you didn't conplete?

doodleschnoodle · 29/11/2024 17:17

What BMI were you when you started? Assuming you were over 30, as per guidelines, then they should continue to prescribe till sub 25 BMI, most are around 22-23 BMI and increasingly offering maintenance plans. I doubt you went from 30+ to 25 in one month though, so what are they saying is a healthy BMI? Did you go through the reorder process as an existing customer instead of brand new order?

VelociraptorsVelociRapping · 29/11/2024 17:27

This doesn’t add up. How has losing a stone taken you from BMI 30 to BMI 25?

OneTwinklySwan · 29/11/2024 17:34

It hasn't. It wasn't over 30. I'm assuming it was my associated health conditions which meant they approved it when I submitted my first order (with photographs).

Med ex states they will start people with BMI with less than 30, if there are other health concerns. Interestingly they also say they will continue it to as low as BMI 19 in some cases!

Cloud asks for GP Details but you can click "no" and carry on. You must have clicked no. They send you an email as part of their confirmation email for your order to strongly suggest letting your GP know for safety reasons and they send you a letter, which is also on your account to print out and/or send to your GP.

OneTwinklySwan · 29/11/2024 17:39

I've had the confirmation email but not a letter, maybe it's not fully confirmed yet.

What was your bmi when you made your first order? It's odd that you started with them with a lower bmi and health issues and they're now rejecting your reorder. I wonder if you should send them an email. Maybe it's a computer issue and they'll be able to override it if a human takes a look.

Has it been approved or the order is simply confirmed? The order will have to be approved by a pharmacist first before they actually send it so perhaps you'll get it with your approval email.

This doesn't sound right at all. Which actual pharmacy was this?

They would not reject you unless they had worries about what you have told them.

And getting any sort of health info from Tik Tok and BELIEVING it will get you into real problems. People on Tik Tok will tell you anything in order to sell you something. And they all vie with each other so they need to exaggerate and lie to outdo each other. Many of them have an IQ smaller than my DCs hamster.
