Can I micro-dose Mounjara?

Just that really?

I am starting 0.25 mcg Wegovy tomorrow. Will have 4 x pens, ie. a months supply.

However I have read that Mounjara could be better?!

Can you micro dose with Mounjara though?

I have always been sensitive to medication and find pharmaceutical companies over-medicate for me, taking a massive hammer to a tiny nail !

I want to lose about 20 lbs slowly - with minimal side effects - to get from from 13.5 stone to 12 stone. Nor do I want ozempic face or get too much muscle loss.

As I want to be able to reduce SLOWLY - this means controlling dosage via number of clicks (as you can with Wegovy after 0.5 mg pens). Can you do this with Mounjara please?

Mounjaro is one pen at 2.5mg with four doses in, not individual pens. Not sure what you've ordered. Have you got a pic, or link to the chemist?

Yes you can. Lots of users here click count, so plenty of experience, although click counting is against protocol.

Thanks @HippoPortlyMouse I know it’s against protocol - but am v sensitive to drugs and find pharmaceutical companies often take a hammer to a drawing pin, or whatever the expression is!! Their attitude is one size fits all.

So, with Mounjaro, you can control with clicks, as with Wegovy (past 0.5mg) - is that what you’re saying? I’d probably half dose it at least for a while as long as I was losing weight slowly

I will most likely want to transfer from Wegoby to Mounjara - as I’ve heard Mounjara might be better with less side-effects

BUT was not sure whether you could control dosage/ I.e. number of CLICKS with Mounjara, as you can with Wegovy? 😃

Yes you can count clicks with Mounjaro pens and essentially get the dose you want each time by doing so, either increasing or decreasing.

No judgement here, I click count and take an in-between dose! But it's worth pointing out for anyone reading that it's not recommended by prescribers.

Each Mounjaro pen uses 60 clicks for a full dose. So if you got a 2.5mg pen (the starting dose) and wanted to take a half dose of 1.25mg, you'd count 30 clicks. You can use any number of clicks to tailor your dose. There are charts around to save you doing the maths as well.

Wegovy is one pen per month.
4 doses , one each week. Not sure why you'd micro dose ?

Are you sure your BMI would fit into obese category?

@tft there is no No 1site to use. Some people stick with one provider others switch depending upon price changes / delivery etc

I'm doing exactly what you are asking. The lowest dose of 2.5mg was too stong for me. So I stopped, then restarted, and I've done 2 weeks of 1.25mg ( 30 clicks) but this didn't have much effect so in week 3 I went up to 40 clicks and it's working well without any sides.

@raspberrymeringue how are you getting on?

I had to stop preciously as I had horrific stomach upset on 2.5mg. Could I ask what issues you were having?

Desperate to restart if possible but haven't found a lot of info on microdosing!
