I gave developed a pain in the lower left side of my back (injected 5mg yesterday), do you think I should get it checked out?

It may be best to check with your prescriber and see what they say

what is everyone planning on doing with their old clothing when it gets too big?

I have some stuff Iv bought for holidays and baggy jumpers that I’m hoping will all be too big soon. I was debating about boxing up all the nicer & general stuff (denim shorts, plain jumpers etc) and putting it up in the attic incase I gain weight again.

I recon it will be about a box full of stuff that I could store away.

BUT IS THAT JINXING MYSELF?!😂

@Fizzleawayy - I’ve already decided that it’s all going. No way I’m keeping bigger clothes in the house this time! I’ve done that for years - clothes in lots of sizes!! I’ll be careful to ensure that maintenance is sorted out properly first though. It’s a long way off!

iv only been bigger for a couple of years so I have a shit ton of clothing at the size I’m aiming to get back too…

I wear the same stuff over and over at the moment as I refuse to keep buying stuff so that’s why I’m debating keeping it but it also feels like bad luck!

When I lose all the weight, I plan to go through all my smaller stuff and get rid of a huge chunk of it too and keep all the nicer stuff.

My size 20s and 18s have already gone. Bagged up in the clothes bins at the tip. I keep a bin bag in the bottom of my wardrobe for baggy clothes and take them once it's full. Thankfully I kept my size 14 and 16 clothes even though I was really sad that I couldn't fit into them last year but they've been a godsend this year, I've not needed to buy all new. It is a shock to fit into medium sized clothing after lots of years of extra large.

Tohaveandtohold · 03/12/2024 01:50

@Fizzleawayy , I’ll be giving them away surely. Lots of them will go in the charity bin. I’ll sell the very nice ones on Vinted. I need to create the environment where I’m not entertaining gaining it all back because I’m determined not to.
I have a plan to pay for maintenance at the beginning whilst I work my way through maintenance without the Jab and staying off for good and assess after 6 months, etc.

TheChosenTwo · 03/12/2024 05:48

I’m too scared to get rid of anything - I have a dreadful feeling that I’ll end up gaining it all back. With insulin resistant PCOS I think I’m missing the hormone or whatever it is (never been quite sure how it works 😂) and I’m not sure that losing weight can fix that.
Don’t know if I’ll be allowed to stay on maintenance forever. I’d love to feel confident that I can keep it off but I’m realistic.
My size 16 knickers however can all go!

WafflingDreamer · 03/12/2024 06:24

I've never really been slim. I lost 6 stone about 12 years ago but was still over 16st and wearing size 18. I haven't kept anything from then and I'm planning to bin/charity shop everything. I'm not sure what to do when I start dropping sizes buy cheap stuff from supermarkets to keep me going I guess.

WafflingDreamer · 03/12/2024 06:45

Jab 9 done Sunday (went a day early as I was struggling) so far;
3x2.5mg
5x3.75mg
1x5mg.

I decided to go up to 5mg as my suppression hasn't been great and my food noise has been dreadful this week. I've really struggled with wanting to eat junk food and struggling to stop once I start. I injected a day early on Sunday but keeping my weigh day as today as I work nights all weekend and hold onto water massively.

Lost 2lb this week which has all been since the jab on Sunday as I was still maintaining then!

Weigh in number 8
SW 21st 9lb
CW 20st 1lb
GW 12st 6lb
2lbs off this week
losses so far; 4, 1, 5, 1, 3, 4, 2, 2
So a total of 22lbs
I'm really hoping to be 2st down by Christmas - 6lb in 3 weeks

EVK · 03/12/2024 07:00

Well done on losses everyone. 🙌🏻
As far as clothes go - I’m in the move the larger clothes on camp because for me it’s all about intention. I need to have the right mindset to make this work for good. I intend to have a little buffer zone of say 3-4 lbs which I can use as my barometer and once I go into that zone I will know I have to make changes to get back out of it! I have to say to myself almost like a mantra everyday I feel happy here and I’m never going back !! Something about ‘I love eating small amounts of healthy and I only drink in moderation !! ‘ I need to rewrite and reword my internal dialogue!

AllstarFacilier · 03/12/2024 07:16

I’m hoping to go from a size 18 to a 12, and I don’t want to have to buy too much of the sizes in between, so I’m holding on to clothes for as long as possible while I can get away with wearing them. I haven’t got to that point yet, but I’ve been thinking about it. I’ll get rid of the bigger sizes as I don’t want to slip into using them again, whereas if I find I’m not fitting in clothes then it will give me a kick to do something about it, but if I get to a 12 I probably would keep some 14s until I figure out what’s what in maintenance.

lapuf · 03/12/2024 07:31

I didn't buy 14s as I'm too stingy Blush I have happily been in denial by sticking to elastic waists, leggings and riding tights (imagine my horse was less in denial though Hmm) so I have all my 12s to hand still. The ones without Lycra are starting to fit me now at 10st 10

Missreginafalange · 03/12/2024 07:56

Weigh in 6 for me this morning and 2nd week on 5mg

SW 15.6
CW 13.12
GW 11 ish

This week I have lost 3 pounds, 22 pounds in total and now in the 13 stone bracket and bmi at 30.5 so nearly under the obese category 😂

On the clothes front I currently live in leggings and joggers when I'm not working so will cling on to them for as long as possible before getting any new clothes, will probably chuck them when too big

Going to order a new pen this week and going to go for another 5mg I think.

Iv also been wearing a lot of leggings over the past couple of years so they grow and shrink with you 😳

and over sized jumpers. The over sized jumpers I will just wear as pj tops in the winter.

Don’t want to be crass but since starting 5mg I don’t think Iv had a solid bowel movement! I constantly have the 💩 every single day.

Has this happened to anyone else? it’s getting on 2-3 weeks now and I thought things would of settled down by now.

anyway… right now I’m off to the torture chamber!! … yes the dentist!

Are you taking a probiotic? I take a daily psyllium husk with added probiotic, with a bit glass of water each morning ( the water is key as psyllium can have the opposite without it )

edit, opposite effect, with water it keeps you regular.

JustMoved123 · 03/12/2024 09:49

Hi everyone, well done on some excellent losses, I’m sorry for those currently feeling unwell and hope it passes so you can continue the weight loss journey.

I’ve been MIA as we had to travel from Australia to UK as my father in law passed away. This caused me dilemmas on moving up to 5mg as it should have been the night before the flight, I decided to stay on 2.5mg which I also did the next week and then I forgot the next one totally!

So not a great success story here but despite that and a lot of meals out, I managed to maintain my weight.

SW 86.4
CW 81.3
GW 63 ish

You’re all giving me inspiration that I’ll get there in the end, so many positive stories.

WafflingDreamer · 03/12/2024 09:56

On top of my 22lb loss in 8 weeks I've also had a couple of lovely NSVs this week. A colleague (from a culture not worried to talk about weight!) said I'd lost weight on my face. I also managed to fit comfortably into a bra I haven't worn since my 4 year old was born.

I had the same so changed my breakfast to low sugar muesli and Greek yoghurt and that's helped. My stomach was deeply unhappy with fat on 5mg. Cream or oil in sauces, skin on roast chicken, anything like chips it gave me explosive diarrhoea. I still need to up the fibre.

Also just to add:

Week 8 - last week on 5mg

SW: 11st 8
CW: 10st 5.6
GW: 8st 6
H: 5ft

A solid stone gone in just two months. I can't believe it. This is a life changer for me, thank you to all the ladies who posted about it on here. It's changed my mindset on food and my confidence. I genuinely never thought I'd lose the weight.

ArtfullyCrumpled · 03/12/2024 10:25

Well done @terracottacountryfarm - solid stones are the best! It's amazing.

Thank you @ArtfullyCrumpled it's so amazing to see so many people gain their confidence back just because of an injection. Just shows how much food has an effect on us. It's quite funny, at the beginning I thought what a load of shite, can't be true but here we are Grin

ArtfullyCrumpled · 03/12/2024 10:45

@terracottacountryfarm it really is wonderful. I'm so excited for everyone here putting their size 18's and 20's and baggy clothes out.

I'm not quite there yet but I feel it, my pj's are feeling baggy, my bra isn't a struggle anymore, I don't feel like I have to unbutton my jeans after a meal, bending down to pick things up is not something that I consider avoiding. Like so many others have said, it's an absolute game-changer and I'm hopeful and confident that I'll be looking healthy by summer.

AnneinEdinburgh · 03/12/2024 10:46

I took myself clothes shopping this week just because I was feeling so much better about myself and I tried things on. I've only lost a stone with loads left to go but I wanted to celebrate. Bought 2 happy coloured and much more fitted jumpers that don't hide my thighs and but for first time in 10 years!!!
